Gruden maybe on way to Miami/Hopefully we are back on Mullen's radar

Well it'd be nice to see Chucky getting back into football, and it'd be great to see him get Miami turned around in my opinion. College football just doesn't seem the same without the U being a powerhouse, and for some reason I feel that's good for the game. And to our benefit, this would obviously leave more candidates available to us.

And Donna Shalala, that girl doesn't mess around. Kudos to her.

If the gophers were ever on Mullen's radar, then the Miami job opening off did not take them off his radar.
Either he is interested or he isn't. Miami has nothing to do with it.

What I read seems to say that Mullen will listen to anyone, would rather have the Miami job, but if Minnesota threw 3 million his way he would take it.

He was just down in Miami striking a deal with the Ric-a-Roni people the whole time.

Well, if we're lucky and he is interested I'm sure this didn't hurt. ;)

Time for Maturi to turn that salary into gold coins and let Mullen go for a swim.

Is Mullen worth that kind of money?

Is Mullen worth that kind of money?

It all depends if you feel he is worth it. He has coached with some high end guys, Urban Meyer for one, at winning programs, and has help groom some of the best quarterbacks in college football over the past eight years.

Many people feel he is one of the top upcoming coaches in the NCAA at this point.

And if you believe all the reports (That Hoke, Calhoun, Golden, Edsall and others have turned us down) the only way Maturi will get a top guy is if he is willing to spend outlandish amounts of money.

funny. we all heard this same story on Sunday. doubt its true like any other report we've heard

Tweet from Tom Dienhart: "Sources have told CaneSport that details are being hammered out and, barring a last minute glitch, Jon Gruden will be the next Miami coach."

Hard to believe it has gone down this fast.

No! No, no, not 6! I said 7. Nobody's comin' up with 6. Who works out in 6 minutes? You won't even get your heart goin, not even a mouse on a wheel.

Wait... I thought we wanted Mullen to coach our team, not break his neck?

You make this part of the interview. If he's a true Gopher he'll be able to tunnel through the gold no problem.

Starkville must be that crappy of a town that he wants out so bad...

Interesting. On ESPN this morning, they reported that Gruden had no interest in Miami and was content to stay with his gig on Monday Night Football. Maybe he's just trying to get them to sweeten the pot, but Gruden seems like an NFL guy all the way.
