reminds me a bit of Streveler. Great athlete, runner but so-so passer. there will be some games he wins for them compared to what they had last year at the position.
Yes, I had the same thought.
I watched the game in anticipation of seeing something new and unexpected from Iowa. That is an indictment of me; I should know by now that Iowa never changes. New offensive coordinator who is supposed to have a new approach? New quarterback? It makes no difference. None.
Iowa is (and always will be, under Ferentz):
— Conservative, common-sense run-first offense with a bunch of powerful road-graders up front;
— A powerful hard-running tailback (or two) who can and will carry the ball a lot;
— A disciplined, smart, opportunistic defense with impeccable fundamentals (they seem to never miss tackles);
— Superb special teams — kicking, punting, returns, kick coverage, kick-blocking... the whole package.
I hate 'em, but I can't help but admire 'em.
