Groenewegen threw the championship game for Canada against the USA in the Pan Am games. She went the distance in the extra inning contest, allowing 6 hits and striking out 7 in the 4-2 victory. USA threw Sara Nevins from University of South Florida, then went to Jessica Moore from University of Oregon and finally Jaclyn Traina from Alabama.
USA had beaten Canada earlier in the games 7-0. Groenewegen did not throw in that one or play.
Overall she was 4-0.

She is a hell of a pitcher. I'm so glad we get her for two more years. We will win the Big Ten (screw you Michigan) and we will make our College World Series. Our pitching is in great shape, it's whether we have enough big time hitting to see us through.
