I wasn't able to watch the game but judging by his stat line he looked pretty damn good.

19/31 298 yards 3 tds and 2 ints(1 coming on that last play) plus 70 yards rushing on 21 carries.

Considering that MSU's defense is supposed to be pretty 'stellar', I think he looked good. Definitely see him progressing as a QB. He still had a couple of misreads and ugly duck throws but I think he played a great game. He won't be playing WR like some were clamoring for...LOL

Q set personal records today for:
Yards Passing - 298 (prev record was 171 vs. New Mexico State)
Pass Completions - 19 (prev record was 16 vs. New Mexico State)
TDs - 3 passing (prev record was 2 passing and 2 total)

In defense of the move Gray to WR crowd his play has been night and day better... reminds me of the McNabb to Ponder switch, except it's been one guy improving that much.

Gray was flat-out awesome today! When Kill said Gray is starting to look like a QB he really meant it. Several great throws, many more good ones, and a bunch of times he escaped pressure and kept his eyes downfield looking for a receiver. The coaches really use him well in the running game too. All in all, just a super impressive game for the young man...I'm excited for the next ffew games as well as his senior year!

I'm thinking of a bowl, albeit 2nd or 3rd tier, still a bowl next year. Nelson gets a year RS with Shortell #1 backup.

Looking good.

Yep. He did a heck of a job, especially given the fact that Sparty had the #1 pass defense in the nation coming into the game. Grey is looking much more settled, confident and comfortable back there these past two games, and really seems to be coming into his own as a QB. He still lacks polish as a passer and his accuracy could definitely use some work, but those are things that can only be gained through experience and both are improvable skills, so the most important point right now is that he does have an arm that can make all the throws. He's becoming a heck of a weapon, and I really can't wait to see what the future brings as he does gain more experience at the QB position.

I'm loving how well he's learning how to buy time with his legs and keep his eyes downfield until someone breaks open. If some receivers can step up next season this team could be really dangerous through the air.
When you have a QB who can extend plays like that AND find guys downfield, you can demoralize and demolish even the best secondaries.

Yup - the massive transition this young man has had, two weeks out of practice with his toe - it's amazing. I am STOKED!!!

Who's "Grey"?

My God...
I apologize, Gray*. For some reason I've always thought it should be an e instead of an a. Weren't you one of the guys freaking out at dpod for correcting people who called Brendan Beal Brandon?

WOW are ya kidding me, Grey has been the best QB we have faced (MSU fan). He ran strong up the middle, ran with moderate speed outside and threw the intermediate pass on target or smart. He knew when to lead a reciever or throw short to allow the reciever to come back to the ball. You have a quality, talented future All Big Ten QB. The only ? I have is can he throw deep with precision? All deep throws (which werent many today) were not strong throws and accuracy was in question.

At the beginning of the year he couldn't make ANY throw. He has come a long ways this year, as a QB. I imagine by the start of next year he will be a much better down the field passer, he has an incredible arm but just needs more reps. He hasn't been a full time QB since his Jr year in HS so it has been a steep learning curve for the kid.

Better than Wilson?

MG used 'Pass'

It was super effective.

The oline has given him much better protection. He has had time to make throws. Iowa game he at most one bad throw I remember. He had few more today but overall was very good.

Continued improvement by Gray and I think they have a shot at a bowl game next year. Defense might be a problem though.

I hope they equal last years win total, they still have a chance, who knows they still have that 1-100 chance of surpassing last years win total. Either way they are competitive.

Gray's play not only has improved (as well as his health), but I earned all new respect for him as a person after the game in East Lansing yesterday.

He came out of the stadium, food in hand, no doubt down a bit about the loss, and probably just wanted to hit the bus ASAP. But he not only stopped for pics with MN fans (see my profile pic), but he even took time for autos/pics for guys in MSU gear!

At 30 (31 next week), I can't say I woulda been as patient. Q never showed any frustration or impatience at all. Class act. As Kill would say, "Good player, better man" :)
