per Doyel:

Indiana is not, say, Purdue or Kentucky or another school, almost any other school, because very few schools — if any — have had the run of off-court nonsense that Indiana has had since February 2014. The Hoosiers have made this bed for themselves, and they have to sleep in it. It would be nice if all of them could go to bed every single night without the smell of marijuana in their dorm room or a 1.75ml bottle of vodka in their car. They’re college kids, and college kids will do this sort of thing. But to whom much is given, much is expected. And to those whom much is given, but they keep getting cited or arrested or caught on drug tests? Even more is expected. That’s fair. That’s life.

For a minute, let’s be real here: None of these IU incidents, alone, were all that big a deal. The Devin Davis injury was horrific, but the wrongdoing involved — underage drinking, driving with an blood-alcohol content (.02) that would be legal in a 21-year-old — was not.

But one on top of another, this is ridiculous. The minor citation from Friday isn’t the story; the major accumulation since February 2014 is. Whose fault is it? Everybody. It’s the AD, it’s the coach, it’s the players.

Even the newest player, Thomas Bryant. Even him, apparently. Even him.

Go Gophers!!

Indiana is a dumpster fire and Crean won't last the year. They've kicked 3 kids off the team this summer alone. And another one is under team suspension for his under age drinking. I thought Crean was a good coach before Indiana, but his program has many comparisons to Tim Brewster's (except Crean has won a few games)...

As an IU alumnus, I wanted him gone after last year and that has nothing to do with his win-loss record. Nothing but continued issues and embarrassing situations. I'm pretty fed up with it. The "college kids will be college kids" argument doesn't fly with me one bit. These student athletes are in the limelight and much more is expected of them.

Wow, 19- 20 year olds drinking beer is worthy of all of this? And no, the other car incident is not relevant to this at all.

Holy Crap, it is a good thing most of us did not have to live under such authoritarian rule in our college days.

N. Broten, the former Gopher Hockey player famously remarked after the so called scandal created by the KMSP 9 news crew early in the Lucia era about young Gopher Hockey players drinking at the Blaney Pub, that he used to conduct media interviews from his bar stool at a Dinkytown bar.

Treating young adults in college like they are 14 years old has never worked, and will never work, but some hard headed types will never admit this.

It all has to do with a culture of acceptance of such behavior. Do college kids want to "have fun", of course. Some programs follow the "don't get caught" rule others follow "don't, so you will not be caught" rule. It is easy to see which rules Crean sets and which rules Kill or Pitino sets. A freshman that is living away from home for the first time is really influenced by his teammates.

I would say all of these issues are their own aren't a big deal but add it all up and you have a culture of lack of accountability and guys knowing that as long as they produce on the court they can do what they please.I am sure iu players hear cream but I highly doubt they're listening. Something tells me this won't Bryant first issue
