Students were awesome. Regular fans sucked. Sat on hands and left way too early.

To be in the student section was different

Every freshman had a free ticket for the game for their Welcome Week events. They were loud, but they were drunk and being loud in response to the fan noise around not following the game.

May have had something to do with the fact that this was a mandatory-attendance function, as part of Wekcome Week.

We'll see if they show up next Saturday.

Yep... the whole lower bowl student section was class of 2018 and yup they got a free ticket, but dang was it awesome to see the student section that full 20 minutes before the game and not start to fill up at the end of the 1st quarter then not come back after half.... Hopefully those kids had a fun enough time a large percentage of them will keep showing up all season.

Gotta Hand it to the Students

I dont remember freshmen getting a free ticket every opener since the stadium opened but kudos on the decision. Imagine if they didn't with how bad the fans have been in general showing up for the opener. That place wouldve been empty last night.
