It ws the best basketball season I can ever remember. The whole Big Ten season was great and the ride through the NCAA had the whole State of Minn buzzing. Who can ever forget the welcome home celebration at Williams Arena after beating UCLA to get to the FF!!!!
 

Don Shelby, as much as I can't stand the guy sometimes, was like a kid in a candy store at The Barn that night. Lined up about 6 blocks away 2 hours before the game, afraid we wouldn't get in. It'll happen again, just hope it is soon.
 

Loved every minute of it. When the Clem scandal came out and the Courtney James's of the world had their papers written for them, it tainted it for me, but I did love that team esp. Bobby J. and John Thomas.

Here's an idea. Don't cheat and you won't have to clear your name.
 


The NCAA can vacate the wins and take away the banners, but they can't take our memories of absolutely dominating the Big Ten that season. Buying my student ticket that year still remains the greatest entertainment value I've ever experienced. The only downer for me that year was going down to Indy to scalp into the Final 4, and not having enough $$ to get both me and my Dad in.
 

I hope Tyus and Vaughn read the last line of that article, that could most definitely be them.
 

Do other fanbases embrace and romanticize cheating like ours does?

I have a VHS tape of the Clemson and UCLA games with all of the SportCenter comments about the Gophers edited in between the games. I need to get them recorded on CD.
 







Here is a very cool site. Many NCAA tourney games. Can see the entire Gophers/Kentucky Final Four game. Just click on the arrow to the right of "By Teams". Pan down to Minnesota and click the arrow to the right of the "M". Then click on Minnesota vs. Kentucky. Unfortunately the result was the same...
