Al had such a great game today. This should give him some confidence. His defense was on Turner was great. He made some fabulous saves along the sidelines - a non-stat task but there were several times that not only did Al save the ball from going out of bounds on the defensive end in a way few can, he was under control and moved the ball up the court without missing a beat. I hope his shooting is a sign of things to come. Some of his assists were a thing of beauty. And his ball handling reminded me of the way I used to feel watching Harris bring the ball up the court. I've missed having a solid PG - he's very steady.

Great stat line:

2-4FG 2-2 3pters 5-6FT-A 5Reb 2PF 11points 7Assists 2TO 4steals 32min

+1

I said after the last game that even though he was getting blocked that it was good for the team that he had the confidence to go inside and try to make some things happen. All effective point guards can drive to the basket and create opportunities for the other players, and his ability to do that gives us 5 scoring options on offense and it no longer feels like we are playing 4 against 5 like last year

AN did have a great game - kept his cool as well when Simmons said something to him. Impressive game, especially because he made a few shots which seemed to give is overall game more confidence.

One more thing on Al's game. Toward the end of the game he penetrated on three straight posessions and dished to the wings instead of going all the way to the bucket. This showed me that he learned from last game. If he can penetrate and dish it consistently he will open up our half court offense. He was terrific in every way today.

His improvement in the past few months has been phenomenal! I salute Al Nolen and the coaching staff.

His best game since Louisville???

He also fed Hoffarber on a number of three's that broke it open in the early 2nd half.

We need this kind of game on the road!

I love Nolen this year....but the word around campus and the athletic department is that he and R Williams will be academically ineligable starting Jan 19th. Not sure if its true and I really hope it isn't just relaying what I have heard

Nolen and R Williams will be academically ineligable starting Jan 19th.
Um...WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?

Where did you get this info?

If this is true, things are going to get ugly pretty quickly...we'll have 9 players, and lose our starting PG for the year?

Just passing on what I heard from a member of the academic advisor team...like I said I hope it isn't true but she does work with many of the players.

LA Gopher....where did this info. come from? My guess Tubby would know this info. already and would have acted already if it were true. My guess is that this is total BS.

Nolen played a great all around game. This is the Nolen I'd like to see more of.

LA, Why are you spreading complete BS on here?? There is no truth to that at all.
