I see a huge blowout win coming over Northern Illinois. Weber will have a huge day and our running game will be huge too. Defensively, we should be able to stop them with our young talented defensive having time to play together.

Based on your previous prognosticating you're not filling me with a lot of confidence. Still, I hope you're right.

I'm glad you are looking on the bright side but I just want a win.

Realistically, it's unrealistic to think they will win by blow out.

They beat NDSU who are better than SDSU, they lost a close one to Illinois who are probably about as good as the Gophers. So, logic would say that any kind of win vs NI is a good win for the Gophers.

I think they should win by 7-10 points.

blowout

Considering the Gophers history in the last 3 years, predicting a blowout is more than a little ridiculous. It can happen, but unpredictably. It's more likely to happen against a team that looks like an equal than a team we're favored against. Any margin 1 pt or greater is ok with me.

Probably said the same thing about South Dakota...

Go HUSKIES!!!!!!

I'm not even sure how I'd react if the Gophers blew anyone out. It is like of like thinking about what I'd do if aliens invaded. Would I stick to the city or try to hide out by a lake up north to live off the land? I guess I really wouldn't know until I saw the flying saucers.

If the Gophers blew out NIU, I'd be happy - sure. Perhaps I could take the time I normally devote to feeling sorry for myself and direct some comments at the a-hole loudmouth that has been sitting in front of me for the past two seasons.

Hoping for an NIU victory...have we sunk that low?

Have we not hoped to win games before? I'm confused.

We should expect to win and be disappointed nay pi$$ed-off if we don't.

Not a slam against any team, but when we are playing a D1-AA, Sun Belt or MAC team, we shouldn't be hoping to win, we should be expecting to.

Old style of thinking.

I think in the modern day College Football the old line of thinking never works. The good teams in the Sun Belt and MAC can play with the average to bad teams in the major conferences and the very best teams in the non BCS conferences can play and knockoff even the very best teams in any conference. The thinking of we are in the Big Ten and that should mean anything is no longer valid especially where the Gophers are as a program. Should we beat a team in the MAC or Sunbelt sure we should but we should also be good enough to beat half the teams in the Big Ten and this season I am not sure that is going to happen.

NIU played a very close game with Illinois this past week and though I didnt get to see the game I will be happy if we win. I will be pissed if we lose but I am not very happy any team from Minnesota loses. If we cant beat USD who is a building D1-AA program we cant take any team for granted or hope to win any game by more than a single point.

I do expect them to win.

That said, the college football landscape has changed too much for anyone to assume any victories when you are a middling program like ours. You don't have to be a garbage program to have teams like NIU rise up to challenge you. These are decent teams at those levels nowadays, it's not like 10 years ago when you basically had few worthy opponents at that level.

I'm curious. How much of the running game will be because of great runs made by Adam? And why didn't you refer to him by his first name, like you've shown a tendency to do in your past posts?

Can you please post what you think Adam's stats will be?

With fans like you, there's no wonder why the Gophers are Golden.

:D

I see PantherHawk is on their boards now. I guarantee you that Gopher fans have more respect for Northern Illinois than PantherHawk will ever have. It's an old pattern, they initially welcome him because they think he respects them. It then becomes clear that he has no respect for them, and that he is becoming an embarrassment, so they ban him. Eventually he will run out of opponents to play this game with.

We think we will win. That's not disprespect.

You might want to consider changing your moniker to Jinx or something after the last two predictions.

A blow out? please... we are happy with a W at this point.

Traveling from MASS and

looking forward to my first game at the Bank Saturday night.

Blowout? Maybe. But who's going to be the victim?

Based on everything I've seen and read, this looks like a pretty even match-up and I doubt either team will dominate or impose their will on the other.

My expectations are modest: just a very entertaining evening with the GGs waking up in the 2H and pulling it out in the 4Q to enter the BT meat-grinder 2-2.

I predict a 17 play drive that ends in a missed FG.

Points come from passing off the run, but Brewster seems to think that you can have a 20 play drive and run it all the way down the field. It doesn't work that way.

you don't create blowouts with 2.2 yards and a cloud of grass, except for the other team.............

I'm not predicting a blowout, but we probably will do better than 2.2 yards. It's not overlooking NIU to say they aren't USC.

I just hope they don't put up 41 points, I couldn't survive that again.

I expect a more open game plan. Gophs should have superior talent and be able to exploit NIU weaknesses

Hmm...

I think we'll run wild on them IMO...they've been pretty lousy stopping the run & right now that's our strength. NIU is pass happy though...way more then USC so they could easily put up 30+ points...

The last time people thought we'd win in a blow out... we lost.

Let me guess........they'll line up in the 1 WR set, try to run people over, maybe get about 4 first downs..........and punt because the defense knows it is coming. That is par for the course for this dumb-ass coach. Play action off that and they might score some points.

Could you bring some of whatever you are smoking to my tailgating spot?
