Gophers will beat USC

""Gophers will beat USC""

And there will be a 2nd Immaculate Conception.

Just my opinion.

You are the last of a dying- yet once numerous- breed my friend.

It seems that gopher fans are finally starting to step out of disillusion and into reality that the rest of us have been watching unfold. Not the best news for guys like me, but probably good for the conference as a whole.

Brett Favre has a better chance of throwing 0 interceptions the rest of the season than the gophers have of winning on saturday.

considering hes also known as the interceptor i think that the gophers have slim to no chance of winning

There's a better chance the Rapture will happen before Kickoff & God will save us from having to watch a Football Game that could be of Apocalyptic Proportions...

Get over it. We all know your stance on here. Doesn't it get old saying the same thing for three days in a row?

I'm with Purple Pride. Gophs win.

The great thing about predicting a win, if it actually happens, they have crowing rights and can look down on those that predict a drubbing. If the Gophers lose, people will probably forget the prediction in the hand-wringing of the loss. Good gamble Purple Pride.

I think the Gophers will pull off the upset on Saturday too. I think the team will come ready to play. I think the offense will do well and the defense with Theret will do just enough to get the win. I'm not expecting anything great for the rest of the season but I think we'll win on Saturday.

From a Hawkeye here, USC is waiting to be beat. Their 1st two games didnt go that well and they are very beatable. Lane is not winning many fans over either, I look for the Gophers to put last week behind them. I am predicting a close game and yes the Gophers can, thats why they play the game.

i think everyone here thinking we'll win saturday is forgetting we just got our asses handed to us by south freaking dakota, and it wasnt even close. SDak stopped trying to score and just hold onto the lead after a bit, and they succeeded.

USC isn't really that good. Way overrated. Could it happen? YES.

They are playing almost as bad defense as the Gophers, so we do have a chance if the offense gets going and the defense can play somewhat respectable.

Even so, USC should destroy the Gophers by 30+.

I think the offense this year will be good enough for us to pull off some upsets. If we had last years offense then I would say we'll lose every game. I'm not a Brewster backer by any means but I still think we'll win half our games. I think our offense will be suprisingly good and it will carry us to some victories.

I hope so since their coach is a guy we passed over for Basement Brew! That being said, we certainly should be able to out X & O them, right?

Yep, bring that up because if Kiffin came here instead of Tennessee there's no way he would have left for USC after one season.

This is getting ridiculous

Amazingly enough, this game has turned into the classic "no-win" situation for the Gophers. Could anybody have predicted that even 3 weeks ago?

Gophers win and all we'll hear from some folks, anti-Brew crowd in particular (oh, and also Doogie), is that USC is a bad team, a team the Gophers should beat, etc.

Gophers lose and it's just another game everybody expected to lose.

Here's the absolutely outrageous part. The notion by some fans that a win against USC would NOT come close to erasing the loss to USD. Huh? Really??

So let me get this straight... Gopher fans would rather have a 35-point win against USD and a 25+ point loss to USC than a 3-point loss to South Dakota and a 3-point win over USC? Do you realize how assinine that sounds?

I have no idea what is going to happen on Saturday, although I think the Gophers will show up ready to play. But the notion that a Gopher win over USC would be meaningless after a 3-pt loss to USD is the most idiotic thing I've ever heard. Congratulations.

In my opinion, I would not say a win over USC is meaningless...I would say it is too little too late. 6 big ten wins, third worst record of any head coach at the U of M since 1900...he has more than past his time with the Gophers.

A win over USC would not be meaningless. If we beat Northern Illinios the next week, people will be on Brewster's bandwagon again. They will say give him one more year. My belief is if a coach can't win a Big Ten title in the first five years he coaches then he never will. In the last 50 years only once has that trend been defeated.
