Whoa, the Vikings, Gophers and Twins are all scheduled to play Thursday night, Sept. 1. @MetroTransitMN might have to order more trains.

And don't forget the State Fair. This seems like a bad idea.

Oregon State at TCF. Los Angeles Rams at US Bank Stadium. Chicago White at Target Field.

After the Chargers come to town for the third week of the preseason, the Vikings will host the Los Angeles Rams in their preseason finale on Sept. 1. That is the same night the Twins and Gophers football teams have home games as well — the Twins play the White Sox and the Gophers open their season at TCF Bank Stadium against Oregon State.

Add to it everyone who hits the road for Labor Day weekend and kickoff to the high school football season.

I like all three teams but the Gophers will get 100% of my attention..

Twins game will mean nothing that late in the year. That won't affect much

God damn it I hate these Thursday night starts, as if traffic isn't bad enough then.....

Sounds like cheaper tix on stub hub.

Streets and transit will be busy for sure, but Gophers game will still do fine. Those other games will be utterly meaningless. US Bank will be a draw, but I'm not worried.

From a fan's perspective, the last NFL pre-season game is meaningless. The starters don't play, or make a token appearance. The Twins game could be meaningless - but if the Twins are somehow still in contention for a wild-card spot, it could be very meaningful. And the Gophers will be kicking off a new season - 1st season opener under new HC and OC. And at the State Fair, people will be standing in line for an hour to buy overpriced cookies.

It's also going into Labor Day weekend - last weekend before school starts. Yikes.

By then the Twins will be 0-147. It'll be football night in The Cities.

I was going to say, "That may be the day the Twins break through with their first victory!"

The good news here is that we are only a week or two away from starting to learn game times for the 2016 season.

per Shama:

The Gophers, Twins, Vikings and Saints will all be playing home games the night of September 1. In three Minneapolis stadiums—within at the most six miles of each other—the Gophers have their opening nonconference game, the Twins face Central Division rival Chicago and the Vikings play their first ever preseason game in U.S. Bank Stadium. In St. Paul the Saints will host Winnipeg. More than 130,000 fans likely will be watching the four games.
