Gophers Snap 5-Game Losing Streak by Beating Illinois

At long last. The Gophers got back to their winning ways in Champaign today taking a 68-59 win over Illinois. The two teams went into the half tied in what was a fun game to watch. Especially because Reggie Lynch didn't foul out. I repeat, Reggie Lynch played full minutes with only 2 personal fouls the whole game. He sowed how valuable his presence can be by shooting 60% from the floor;finishing the game with 15 pts, 6 rebs, and 2 blk.

Four of five starters were in double figures (Mason 13, Coffey 13, Springs 14) even though the team only shot 37.5% FG. The defense held strong generating 10 turnovers (+5 in differential). Illinois was only able to shoot 18% from 3 PT range due to some great closeouts on shooters and overall tight defense.

Messy win for the Gophers in which both teams did not shoot that well. But, it goes into the win column. The Gophers will look to start a new streak on Wednesday (2/8) when Iowa comes to the Barn.

Can he save those three unused fouls like mulligans for the next game?
