Since Northwestern finally won a bowl game last year, the Gophers have moved into some dubious territory:

1. Ball State, 6 (Last win: none)
T-2. Kansas State, 5 (2002 Holiday Bowl vs. Arizona State)
Minnesota, 5 (2004 Music City Bowl vs. Alabama)
UTEP, 5 (1967 Sun Bowl vs. Mississippi)
Western Michigan, 5 (none)

Ending each season from 2002-04 with a bowl win was fun, and I love how Coach Kill was stressing the value of it during his locker room speech after the Michigan State game.

Still not as bad as the Detroit Lions.....1 playoff victory in 56 years.

This should be on the Iowa or Wisconsin board. They disrespect us enough without us doing it to ourselves.

They need to Beat Syracuse and end that damn streak.

What hurts even worse is we had a 7 point lead against Virginia with 9 minutes left. We had the infamous 31 point lead with 5 minutes to go against Tech in 2006 and 7 points with less than 90 seconds left last year. The Iowa State game was lost when, after leading the team down to Iowa State's 17 with less than 5 minutes remaining Gray fumbled away that chance at a late game win.

That game was the first time ISU had beaten the Gophers since 1898.

there was once a time where the mighty Gophers beat Alabama in a bowl game.....

Because that's the reputation you have cultivated for yourself. And if you weren't so paranoid, you would have read my last paragraph, as well as noticed that MspHawk is a pretty level-headed contributor.

Why don't you ask MN spaniel the same question?. You already had Mpls Hawkeye
respond. All you're doing is trolling for trolls.

When I looked-up how they lost some of those Bowl games the summary of both the 2009 and 2012 Bowls mentioned the losing streak. It's not exactly an obscure stat.

Riiiight.....All you have too do is look at the title. Paranoid! , I'm laughing at that. You don't see me over on the Syracuse site bantering. The Gophers had a great season Jirke. Why even throw the proverbial monkey wrench at it with a negative topic?.

I wouldn't know. I don't read other teams' message boards.

Sorry if facts offend you. I tend to rely on them pretty heavily when I post, so feel free not to read.

(Pssst....the Gophers have not played in the Rose Bowl in 52 years. Don't let anyone from Iowa or Wisconsin find out).

I was at the game. If I remember right, we were within field goal range, I was thinking that the worse thing that could possibly happen is that we would get stopped soon and have to kick the field goal with enough time on the clock for ISU to drive down and kick a game winner. That is the problem with Gopher football, as soon as you think you have identified the worst case scenario, someone on the team finds a way to say "nope, that's not the worst case, check this out."

Looks like we climbed the ladder:
