Rarely does a scandal have everyone wrong - but they are: from the original miscreants and the woman who joined them, from Coyle and Kaler, from the committee with its vicious timing and now from the players who will destroy their own coaches and recruiting and run the program off the rails, probably for years, by boycotting a highly prized bowl game. The indicted need due process, which could be provided in January after proper preparation. They need to have lawyers, to be shown all film/tapes, and have the right to be innocent until proven guilty, however that can be arranged. Campus committees are not equipped in any way to do police work, which is why suspected crimes should be handled only by civil authorities. But the best solution at the moment is for players and coaches to shoulder their responsibility for the game, while their lawyers win concessions for a more fair assessment and resolution in January. Those not allowed in the game would still have hope for a more legal and fair resolution of the matter in the new year.
