per Phil:

In the meantime, the leadership side has come out as Autman-Bell tries to bring younger players along. But the powerful side will be counted upon as the Gophers try to get back on track 2 years removed from their first 11-win season in over a century.

“I’ll tell you what [receivers coach] Matt Simon has told me many times: I have to be no hero,” Autman-Bell said. “I just need to grow in my role, and in doing so, help influence others.

“I’m ready to step up and do it, but I need to bring others with me.”

Go Gophers!!

Chris Autman-Bell is a critical component this season.

Matt Simon and PJ Fleck will maximize each WR's strengths. They have an eye for wide receiver talent. They coach them up the right way and put them into game situations where they will be most productive.

We will see two or three players emerge this season to continue carrying the mantle that TJ and RB started. CAB is the WR Room team leader.

Off-Topic:

Yes, don't play hero ball. The Gophers were successful in 2019 because they learned to play as a team. As a team, they went 5-7 in 2017 and 7-6 in 2018. In those two years, they learned how to play team ball and grew together as a united team. It's not difficult to figure out why they beat Penn State and Auburn full of four-star and five-star players. It is through a disciplined fundamentally sound team ball.

The last four years seem to follow PJ' Fleck's zig-zag chart. We are due for an upward trend.

It's the WRs production that may bump us over on Offense. Teams are busy stopping the run, and they will get nailed by the WRs and TEs in the Gopher RPO Offense. Let's hope Mike Sanford Jr does not change Gopher RPO. Rather, we would like augmentation to it.

Imagine if the Gophers win the B1G West TItle, and eventually win the Big Ten title outright. It will mean that recruiting will be next next-level. I am talking about players with speed and huge massive agile offensive linemen. If the current progression of the program continues, they can win a national title someday. Progress seems slow, but it is methodical.

Don't count PJ Fleck out. He came out when he was hired saying he is going to wake up the sleeping giant. I am taking his word for it.

I think it would hurt a little bit more than has been discussed if this man is not able to suit up Thursday
