They put too much emphasis on talent not enough on coaching. Pitino is in charge now.
 

I don't think most of the the teams picked ahead of the Gophers lack quality coaching. ... Beilein, Izzo, Matta, Painter, Ryan, etc. Their talent isn't too shabby, either. And certainly Groce, Tan Man Tom, and McCafferey are more proven than Pitino.

Let's let him grow into the job before we put him in the same echelon as most of the coaches in the Big Ten.

I could see us finishing 9th, but not really below that. We'll be outmatched in the front court against most of the BIG, but I think our guards are capable of putting up a big points from time to time and stealing some games from better teams.

If EE can play up to his potential and we can find some competence at the 4, I don't think a 6-7th place finish is out of reach. I mostly just want to see improvement throughout the year, though.

I mostly agree with this. As it currently sits, I foresee a bunch of our conference games to be like our game against UCLA where we dominated the boards and won pretty handily. I just really don't know where our rebounds will come from.

But if Buggs is serviceable or King is eligible and either of them can even be average at rebounding, we may have a better team than most people are expecting.
