Gophers listed among "schools of interest" for 2 of Scout's Top 100 for 2013

We have essentially no shot at Bronson Koenig. UNC is really interested plus I'd have to imagine he'd consider Wisconsin and Marquette before Minnesota. Which is fine IMO, I'd just assume wait a year for Tyus Jones who will also be highly recruited but at least we are the hometown team with him.

Koenig is down to UW, UNC, Kansas and Virginia. UNC would appear to the favorite, but it would not be all that much of a surprise to see him pick any of those four.

Not sure what to think of the rankings. I usually think Scout does a pretty reasonable job, but they have Koenig as the third best prospect in the state of Wisconsin (although not by much). Very few (if any) people in Wisconsin would tell you that Duane Wilson and Luke Fischer are better than Koenig. As an aside, I am pretty sure Minnesota has shown interest in both Wilson and Fischer. Fischer received a call from Minnesota in June on the first day 2013 prospects could be called. Luke was in Madison for a visit last week, but so far only has offers from Marquette and Creighton.

work to do

A quick perusal of the list tells us the following about Big Ten recruiting:

OSU - 9 top 50's - 6- 50-100 - 15 total 1 commit
Ill - 5 top 50 - 5- 50-100 - 10 total 1 commit
Purdue - 4 top 50s - 5 - 50-100- 9 total 3 commits
MSU -4 top 50s - 5 -50-100 - 9 total 0 commits
Mich - 3 top 50s - 6 -50-100 - 9 total 1 commit
Indiana- 3 top 50 - 3 top 100 - 6 total 0 commits
Wisc. - 1 top 50 - 5 - 50-100 - 6 total 0 commits
NW - 1 top 50 - 2 - 50 -100 - 3 total 0 commits
PSU - 2 top 50 - 0 - 50 -100 - 2 total 0 commits
Iowa - 1 top 50 - 1- 50-100 - 2 total 0 commits
Minn - 0 top 50 - 2 - 50- 100 - 2 total 0 commits :(
Nebraska 1 top 50 - 0 - 50-100 - 1 total 0 commits

Looks like we need to get going. Should have 6 top 100's interested if we want to be middle of the pack.
