That article reads like a Gopher recruiting brochure. I'm sure Kill has mentioned Fitzgerald's summer school to recruits as this is another unique feature of being a school located in the middle of a large city.

It certainly ain’t hurting any when people know Larry is doing his thing on our campus.

Nice sentence. That may have been one of those times where instead of a direct quote, one might best summarize the statement instead.

Why, because he said "ain't?" I'm not embarrassed by the guy. Not even when I watched his "I ain't never been more prouder" locker room speech with my grammar nazi mom. I'll take bad grammar with good coaching any day.

Larry didn't play for the U, but he seems to be doing more for the program than many who did. Good for him, he's a guy I like to root for, now even more so.

It's great that he's helping the U now, but nothing he is doing now could be as helpful as being a Wide Receiver on the 2003 Gopher roster instead.

Larry has said if Coach Kill had been here in 2003 he would have signed with Minnesota.

It's unlikely he'd of had the college career he had if he'd signed with Mase, so that probably worked out the way it needed to. I'm certainly in favor of him training pros all summer and letting the college kids join in. Can only help out with our squad.

You never know what little things can turn out big when a team goes from good to great. Championships are won in the offseason and this factor is hard to overlook if the Gophers end up with an improved passing threat.
