At least part of this is due to repeatedly getting screwed over from best case situations (and more notable/better opponents) with bowl placements by the bowl committees and conference.

But as others have said, you can only play who they lined you up to play and you still have to win the games in an era of opt outs and transfers.
 




The streak also shows how well PJ is able to build a mentality that whatever bowl game we are in, we are thankful and look at it as a very important opportunity. His teams have always been very well prepared and certainly take advantage of the extra month of practice for more opportunities to develop younger players. I love his approach. It's the only way to continue to get better.

No 'Yeah, Buts...' here! Gophers have been great in Bowl Games and have beaten who they have been paired with (which are usually 'on par' with our team/season). When we are OK, we play teams that are OK...and we win. When we are good, we play team that are good....and we win. When we are very good, we play teams that are very good...and we win! Very proud of our Bowl record and success! Looking forward to continuing the streak tonight. I think our Bowl record says a LOT about our coaching, culture, and depth/development. Go Gophers!
