According to scout, we're 7th in recruiting thus far and are 3rd in avg star rating. just kind a fun and exciting deal to see it going well early for us this year!

I'm going to assume you mean nation, since we picked up Scout's #1 center. With a small class, we'll probably be happy with 7th in the Big Ten when it is all said and done. But as you say, a very promising start to the recruiting year. Just looked, it is 7th in the Big Ten...

31st in the nation. I'm assuming the OP was referring to the B1G. Agree with Sparlimb. With a small class ( 16 ) 7th in the B1G would be outstanding! 3 that would help would be Stealter, Ragnow, and Deron Thompson. I don't think Kill can swing JC ( Bama ) In looking at offers, and I could certainly be wrong, I don't see any other 4 star recruits coming to Minnesota. So that means the rest of the class will be filled with 3 and 2 star recruits.

As has been said, the "small class effect" will probably cap our ceiling when it comes to the overall ranking, but I really like the look of the class thus far. All the guys who have committed thus far look like the real deal. Regardless of what service you follow, this looks like the best start Kill has had in terms of landing higher profile kids. We land Ragnow, Stelter, and a few more 3- or 4-star kids and this could, in some respects, be the best class we've had in my memory. We seem to be "in" on a lot of talented kids (seems like even more than in the aggressive Brewster era) and I'm really optimistic as the recruiting season moves forward.

it is the BIG as right now, alas, even though Mayes is the top center, he's well outside the top 100 overall in rankings. it is kind of cool to be ahead of some big schools though at this point!

I looked on Rivals at our overall rank and number score and decided to look at average points per recruit. We are 4th behind Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State, with there only being a very marginal difference with Penn State.
