Not that anyone would be completely upset by being left out of the NIT, but if the Gophers lose to Northwestern on Thursday and finish the year at 17-14 (6-12) with an RPI in the 70s or 80s, losers of six straight and 10 of 11, I think the NIT could absolutely leave the Gophers out.

NIT Bracketology suggests the Gophers-Wildcats could be a "play-in" NIT game.

Also, probably means that if we lose to NU @ BTT, but still somehow make the NIT, that we'd be on the road on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. Bracketology suggests a game at Alabama.

Nothing about this season has gone right.

Don't fear there is always the CBI for those not able to make the NCAA or NIT.

I hope Minnesota makes the NIT and can make a run because to me bad Gopher basketball is better than no Gopher basketball. Can the NIT games be any worse than the nonconference home games we endured this season?

Well if Jon Templon says its true.....

A few problems I have.....if Penn State loses in the first game of the BTT....they are a .500 team...are they even eligible at that point? Yet this guy has them as a 1 seed.

He has New Mexico as a 5 seed and the Gophers and Northwestern as 7s? Get serious.

Penn State is 16-13, so a loss puts them at 16-14.

I was not thinking correctly....I was making this same argument to someone the other day....but it was contingent on Penn State losing to the gophers

A .500 or better record is no longer a requirement so even Iowa could get an invite. A regular season conference champion is guaranteed a bid if they fail to win their conference tournament.

Wow I am surprised by that actually. I knew that the conference champion was given a bid for sure.

Certainly possible. NIT is far from certain.
