Go Gophers!!

I'd like to see us in Holiday or Music city territory when all is said and done.

Ok then whatever the original post has Maryland slotted in that's what I meant. There must be a typo up there.

It's not a typo, the idiots at ESPN just don't know what they're doing.

There's also no way the Big Ten is getting 2 teams into the major bowls (now that fan following and ability to travel have been taken out of the equation) so everyone on that list is going to get knocked down a peg.

Yeah, they know what they're doing.

Isn't the Music City ACC or B1G vs SEC?

Unless Gator has already announced they're taking a B1G team this year...

Yeah, you may want to do a little research here or ask for help from someone that knows what they're talking about.

It's a rotating contract that shifts on a yearly basis. The Gator gets a B1G team this year with an ACC team going to Nashville. Next year it's the opposite.

You're welcome.

ESPN's projections have GT playing in the Gator Bowl. The Gator does not have to take a BIG team. It's all spelled out in the link that you immediately dismissed.

Literally can't find that agreement anywhere online through a Google search (all I see is the "three appearances in six years" language), but thanks for setting me straight I guess. Do you have a source for your info? Unfortunately the B1G release is vague, doesn't say anything about the Gator or Music City being locked to one conference in a given year.

The Music City Bowl isn't much help either, only stating:

"As announced in July, the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl and TaxSlayer Bowl have agreed to share selections with the Big Ten Conference and ACC to provide an opponent to the SEC through 2019.

“The significant upgrade in our selection position to a multi-bowl, multi-conference partnership will maximize our ability to fill the stadium and city with college football fans and deliver compelling matchups over the next six years,” said Scott Ramsey, President & CEO, Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl.”

The ESPN "projections" seem a bit suspect since they state in their description that Indiana falls out of their projections after losing to Maryland, but then places them in a bowl.

Screw it - let's get to 5-1 first, we can worry about bowl berths later.
