Go Gophers!!

Music to my ears since I'll be flying in from out of state that morning!

Great news.

The Gopher hockey game vs. UMD has been moved to Sunday at 4:00, and the "I only root for the Gophers in hockey" crowd is already throwing a fit.

I'm as big of a Gopher hockey fan as there is but the fact that it would be moved if football was at 2:30 was announced officially last week and was evident to most of us that pay any attention to these things all along.

Yep. And a-ok with it!

Go Gophers!!

Why is USA Today showing this:

#17Wisconsin (8-2) — WEEK 13 — 7:05pm ET - Saturday, November 23
@ #23Minnesota (8-2)

How do they pick Indiana/Ohio State over our game for the ABC 2:30 game?

In fairness to the hockey crowd, Sunday afternoon games are pretty lame compared to Saturday night.

I watched last night's game - that crowd was pretty lame, too.

Hockey fans better get used to not playing on Friday/Saturday every week.

Agreed. Let's make MN a football first university once again. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the hockey program, but I LOVE the Gopher football program much, much more.

I don't disagree with this general sentiment. However, there are people who care about both teams and people who care about one or the other. A hockey fan being upset about a Sunday game is no less reasonable than a football fan complaining about an 11AM game time.

I agree this stinks for hockey fans. I wonder what the reasons are for moving the game to Sunday? Last year UW had a football game kick off at 2:30 and the men's hockey contest was moved back to 8 p.m.

The proximity of Mariucci to TCF is much closer than the Kohl Center to Camp Randall. They share many of the parking facilities and access roads. It would be a nightmare.

No inside information, but it may be a matter of TCF and the 'Ooch being directly across the street from one another, whereas Camp Randall and Kohl Center are at least a few blocks apart. The proximity would compound any logistics problems.
