I'll gladly take a UNC beating if it meant an 8 seed and a 1st round win. When was the last time we "officially" advanced in the NCAA tournament? I can't even recall.
 

Last official win in NCAA was in 1990 when we were a #6 seed and eventually lost in Elite Eight to Georgia Tech. In 1989 we were a #11 seed and lost to Duke in the Sweet Sixteen. I think those were in Coach Haskins' 3rd and 4th years here so we are probably a year away.
 

Once Long Beach State gets past Oklahoma, we'll have a chance to play Monson in the semi's. I'd like to see him get in - but not if we don't. It's gonna be close.

Best realistic case is that we take the L against Illinois tonight and scrap back with home Ws on Wisky and Mich. We eek into the thing as the last of six or seven(?) BT teams with a 15 seed or something like that. Who knows . . . . .?
