Minnesota's Destiny Pitts and Barbora Tomancova have each been chosen to participate in international competition this summer.
Pitts is one of 36 athletes that will take part in trials for the 2019 U.S. Pan American Games Women's Basketball Team. Athletes eligible for this team must be U.S. citizens who currently are enrolled as a full-time collegiate student with remaining eligibility for the 2019-20 school year.
Trials to select the 12-member team will take place May 16-20 at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. The team members will return to Colorado Springs for training camp July 23-Aug. 5, before competing in the women's basketball tournament at the 2019 Pan American Games from Aug. 6-10 in Lima, Peru.

Meanwhile, Tomancova has been chosen to represent her home country, Czech Republic, at the FIBA U20 European Championship in Klatovy, Czech Republic, August 3-11.
Czech Republic is one 16 teams in competition and has been placed into a group with Poland, Russia and Sweden. After round-robin group play, teams will be matched up by results (Ex. A1 vs. B4, B1 vs. A4, etc.,), and the winners of those games will move on to the quarterfinals.
A native of Brno, Tomancova has previously competed for Czech Republic at the U18 European Championship in 2017, U17 World Championship in 2016 and U16 European Championship in 2015.
