Throw (future member) Maryland in there and the Big Ten has 8 of the top 25. Pretty darn impressive.

Thanks for the attendance figures. I actually looked for these a few weeks ago when we were debating the topic but couldn't find any. As I said at that time, I would concede the point that attendance figures likely dropped during the Monson years. These numbers would most likely support that. My point was more about season ticket holders but it is reasonable to assume that it wasn't only single game tickets that dropped during his regime.

However, I stand behind my contention that we would not have seen "massive defections" in the season ticket base as you suggested in that thread if Tubby had not been fired. You will always have churn but I don't think the season ticket base had reached the same level of apathy (frustration perhaps, but not apathy) as may have existed during the Monson years. Even the attendance figures last year were a modest increase from the year prior. It would also be interesting to see how season ticket sales have varied over time. In any case, for better or worse, I guess we will never know what would have happened if Tubby had been retained.
