Dave Mona opened the show and said the Sports Huddle's first half-hour segment would be split between Tubby Smith and Jerry Kill. Smith was the first guest.
When it was Kill's turn, it was announced he was busy with a recruit and then had to catch a plane. So Jerry Kill was not interviewed today.
Dave Mona said this weekend's visiting recruits attended the Gopher hockey game Friday night with North Dakota. He wondered what the impressions were of the southern recruits when they watched the spirited game and victory by the Gopher pucksters.
Mona also said he hoped the southern recruits weren't outside yesterday afternoon, as he described the temperatures as "brutal." Mona's statement reminded Sid Hartman of Bo Schembechler. Sid said Bo would show recruits the Sears diehard battery commercial that was filmed at International Falls, MN in the winter. Schembecher would ask the recruits why they would consider playing at a school with such frigid temperatures.
Dave said coach Kill would be back on the Sports Huddle next week.
