Passing the time between now and August 30th I've taken to looking up random facts.

Without cheating....

1. Minnesota has their best B1G winning percentage against __________
2. Minnesota has beat __________ more than any other team in their history
3. Against FBS opponents they've played 10 or more times, Minnesota has the best winning percentage against _________
4. Minnesota has their worst B1G winning percentage against ___________
5. The Gophers have never beaten two current Pac-12 teams: ________ and ________

Guessing.

1. Indiana
2. Iowa
3. Iowa St.
4. Ohio St.
5. Oregon, Colorado

3. Iowa St.

You got 2 and 3 right: Minnesota has an all-time record of 61-42-2 against Iowa for the most wins against and FBS team. Second most? Wisconsin, 59-54-8.

And against Iowa State, Minnesota is 22-3-1 all time, outscoring the Cyclones an average of 22-6.

And in your edit, #4 is right. Gophers are 7-43 all time against the Buckeyes, a 14% winning clip. Second worst is Michigan, 24-71-3 (26%).

#5 Utah and Oregon St?

No and No.

I should add Colorado is correct in the first reply. Minnesota is 0-3 all time against the Buffaloes:

38-6 L in 1972
58-0 L in 1991
21-20 L in 1992

Minnesota is 1-1 against Utah (W 1967, L 1990), 2-1 against the Beavers (W 1954, 1981, L 1978)

Illinois is not correct either for #1

#1 Northwestern?

Ding ding ding, winner. Gophers are 50-32-5 (60%) against Northwestern all time. Iowa is second, a 59% winning percentage. Still looking for the other Pac 12 team the Gophs have never beat.

Who said Oregon? They're the most recent Pac-12 team we've beaten. :)

I'll go dark horse and guess Arizona.

1-0 all time against the Wildcats, a 62-0 beatdown in 1939.

I was going to say Arizona as well. I'm just throwing things out, but I'll guess the other Zona squad (ASU).

Got it! 0-1 all time against the Sun Devils, losing 48-26 in 1969. The Gophers have at least one win against all 10 other Pac 12 teams:

10-7 vs Washington
3-1 vs Oregon
2-4 vs Cal
2-3 vs Washington St
2-1 vs Oregon St
2-1 vs UCLA
1-6-1 vs USC
1-1-1 vs Stanford
1-1 vs Utah
1-0 vs Arizona
0-1 vs Arizona St
0-3 vs Colorado

Ok, one more.

Gophers have played 9 of the 10 current Big XII teams. Which one haven't they played, and which two have they played but never defeated?

Here's a fun piece a trivia: Which is the most recent B1G team to beat Alabama?

Gopher07...I will go with West Virginia as the team they have never played and I will say we have never beaten TCU and OU

Nokomis...MINNESOTA

Two out of three. Have never played West Virginia, and have never beaten OU, losing 13-7 in 1985 and 63-0 in 1986. The Gophers are 1-0 all time against TCU, a 9-7 W in 1974. They paid us back by sending Wacker though.

I'm going to agree with Stan and say we've never played West Virginia, but I'm going to say they've never beaten Texas Tech or Texas A&M.

Edit - didn't see that OU was correct, but I'm sticking with TT as the other school.

Texas Tech?

Bingo. The infamous comeback game in the Insight Bowl is our one and only game against the Red Raiders.

Against the current Big XII:

22-3-1 vs Iowa St
3-4 vs Kansas
2-0 vs Oklahoma St
1-0 vs Baylor
1-0 vs TCU
1-0 vs Texas
1-2 vs Kansas St
0-1 vs Texas Tech
0-2 vs Oklahoma
0-0 vs West Virginia

I'm going to agree with Stan and say we've never played West Virginia, but I'm going to say they've never beaten Texas Tech or Texas A&M.

A&M is an SEC school now, but we've never actually played them

Lakeville...Texas A&M is in the SEC now.

Side note, I'd love to play the Mountaineers some time. Morgantown looks like a good time (for a football game...probably wouldn't ever want to live there)

Milan Puskar field (in Morgantown) sells beer as well.
