The New York Islanders have reportedly acquired Thomas Vanek from the Buffalo Sabres in an early season blockbuster trade.
The trade, first reported by Arthur Staple of Newsday, is Vanek to Long Island in exchange for Matt Moulson, a first-round pick in 2014 and a second-rounder in 2015. The Sabres confirmed the deal on Sunday evening.
