Couldn't find the Gopher broadcast on the stadium headset radio. Did find the Iowa broadcast. Much better then ours of course. Guys knew players and downs and distance. They were pulling for Iowa to be sure, but they were quite balanced and even handed to the Gophers. On replays that went the Gopher's way they called them right before the Ref did. They were very complimentary to Weber and the job Horton had done. They were also high on Troy S. and those "giants in the middle" on defense.

Captain Kirk was also classy after the game. Didn't make any excuses or take the "slick surface" out that they offered him as an excuse for their defensive line's domination by the Gophers O-Line. "We both had to play on it". He said they were flat outplayed by Minnesota.

At first I was rather irritated to have to listen to the Hawkeye broadcast at TCF. That didn't last long and yeah, the early Gopher lead probably helped, but listening to two pros tell me what was going on was a breath of fresh air.

Gary Dolphin is one of the better PBP guys around. He's a lot better than Wisconsin's Matt LePay, who sounds like he's shouting most of the time.

The main problem with Lee is that he does a TV-style PBP job over the radio. He doesn't describe where or who has the ball enough during the play, which you can get away with on TV since everyone watching can see who has it. However, when you do this on radio it leaves everyone wondering what exactly is going on.
