Gopher FB Players Reading to Elementary kids

In SEC country the headline would read, "Elementary kids reading to Alabama FB Players." :)

I couldn't resist. It is always nice seeing players out there interacting with kids. Those kids will remember it and it can have some very positive effects on their lives.

You seem to imply that most SEC football players can't read. This would be a complete exaggeration. Everyone knows that none of them can read.

Go Gophers!

They can read the numbers on the $100 bills they receive all the time.

I'm an elementary school teacher and have had Gopher football players come into my classroom and read every year since the Wacker era (until my move to FL two years ago). Raymond Baylor was the first Gopher I had out in around 1995. They all did an outstanding job of educating and entertaining the kids, and were true maroon and gold ambassadors for the university and the football team. I taught PE for one year and had 3 of Mason's assistants come out and put on a passing clinic for my kids and nearly 40 parents showed up for the event, 5 of them buying season tickets for the following season. For anyone who works with kids, the elderly, or in a hospital, the Gophers are usually willing to send out players or coaches free of charge to promote the team and help out for a good cause.

pure comedy gold! nothing like a bunch of meat-heads reading to 1st graders.

I like this when STUDENT/ATHLETES get out and show up and act like positive role models!! I am sure a scholar athlete like Alan Page would agree!!
