Anybody know of a good bar to watch the Gophers in the Mora/Hinckley area? Satellite package up there doesn't get BTN. I went to a few places looking for the Gopher/Syracuse game (also on BTN), and nobody was playing it.

Check with the Crystal Bar in "Downtown" Mora. Not a sports bar but a good bar for a small town. Stiff drinks, pretty good burgers and chicken all for a reasonable price. They got some TVs turned to games. Give them a call and find out. Also hard to believe that Grand Casino Hinckley wouldn't have the game on too. Never been there though.

Grand Casino will have the game. I haven't been to The Sportsmen's bar on the south end of Mora in many years, but they should have tv's in there as well. Sportsmen's is right on HWY 65...

Maybe the TNT bar in Henriette if you are between Hinckley and Mora. On second thought this is not a good recommendation.

Henriette, lol. My Mom's from right between Mora & Henriette. Henriette has been the butt of jokes for decades at family get-togethers.

If you want to have a beer, can you do that at Grand Casino? I know it's not permitted at Mystic Lake.

Grew up in Mora. We'd go to a bar in the 70's in Henriette. You could get 2 cases of Red, White and Blue and change for $10! Of course that's so far back that Sportsman's was serving good food!

What about the Crow's Nest? Is that place still there?

Yes it is. Now it's called Captain Dan's Crowes Nest. Went to school with Dan Crowe, not sure if it'e the same guy but I think it is. Haven't been there in years but it might be an option. The people who ran the place across 65 are now in Mora. They bought the old American Legion Club downtown. Tended bar there after my Freshman year in college. It's now called Bowe's. Either place might work.

Funny! I grew up near a big town called Grasston (about 5 miles from Henriette). Anyone recall the Cougarville Castle in Quamba?

Parents would go to Cougarville Castle. I thought it must be some place enchanted. That and Quon Yee's in Forest Lake.

A Supper Club in Quamba that opened in the late 60's- early 70's. Made it until the mid-80's. They really had a Cougar in a cage outside the place.
