Found this nifty little chart online. Interesting to see the breakdown of scanned vs. actual and all that.

"Fun to be on with @RyanBurnsMN and @lukebuer this week to talk attendance and #Gophers athletics. Compared to the last two years, attendance and ticket redemption rates for a couple minor non-conference games looks improved. Now we shall see if it carries over to the B10 stretch. "

Attendance appears much improved, at least based on the "tickets scanned" column. Per this chart, the two most attended games of PJs coaching career here were both this year.

Revenue comparison might be a more legitimate barometer. When you give away tickets and offer very low priced tickets in 2019 and not in other years...hopefully attendance would increase. They also have increased their advertising spend in 2019. So, in addition net revenue would be helpful to compare.

More people in the stands is great but there are some factors if you are going to compare previous seasons.

I think the context here is just all about “butts in seats”. That has been the most frequent criticism by most over the last few years.

With money from TV flooding in, not meeting gate revenue projections is if no real consequence. With the growing importance of TV, a few P5 teams have actually reduced the capacity of their stadiums in the last 5 years.

I'm with you here. TV is the moneymaker. For in person attendance, I care about gameday atmosphere.

I agree but his point is that it's not a fair comparison and an increase in attendance doesn't necessarily reflect an increase in demand or interest in the program if the tickets prices are significantly cheaper than in prior years.

Things are guaranteed to be better with Nebraska and Wisconsin coming to town, but those are still some sad numbers.

51 more season tickets this year than last year!
