Good Win for the Gophs last night...

But -
The board has blown up with this team being the best since 97, we are awesome, etc...

People get so upset when there is an overreaction to a loss, this is worse than the Louisville win a couple years ago.

I hope the Gophs can pull out the title tomorrow, but it seems the tone of the board has gotten extremely cocky for 1 win against a NIT team + a couple of top freshman.

First W in 30 years over UNC (arguably one of Top 3 programs ever) deserves some celebration.
 

Yesterday is History, Tomorrow is a Mystery, I only know that I am enjoying this gift of Today, that is why it is called the Present. Go Gophers!
 

I'm not saying this is our best team since 97. I'm thinking we will be the best team ever in college basketball.
 


Let people enjoy it.

The Twins died in the playoffs again
The Vikings suck
The football team sucks
The Timberwolves aren't extremely sucky just sort of sucky this year
The Wild are getting better but aren't great
The hockey team isn't great

This is our only team to really get excited about. Let's enjoy a great win.
 


I do think the Gopher baseball team will be really good but baseball season is 3 months away!

You also forget how miserable most of our teams have been since '97. It does not take much to be better than almost all of our teams since '97, the ebst of which overachieved for their talent level. It is not a reach at all to call this the best since '97. That is not a proclamation they will be in the Final Four or that they are BETTER than '97, but I think those of us who have followed this program for a couple or three decades might have a bit of perspective here. This is the most talent and best coaching we have assembled since '97, hands down.
 



We haven't exactly had stellar teams since 97. Is is that ridiculous to say this is the best team we've had since then?

Doc, That is a familiar saying to 'Freinds Of Bill'. Do you know about him?
 

I agree it was a good win, and I am happy they won the game. Just think that early in the year NC is such an unproven team and hyped more than anything. Not taking anything away from the Gophs, just that this could very well turn out to be a less impressive win that we think it is now. But, a win is a win and I'll take it any day. I also think there is value in beating "name" teams like NC, Duke, Kentucky, UCLA, etc...no matter how good they are..

Sampson III is just perfecting what KAJ started so obviously Minn > UCLA.

Iverson is atleast as big and white as Walton therefore, once again, Minn > UCLA.

Yup...best team ever. :D:eek::D

Oh yes, and all of those "Friends of Bill" have to attend all those damned old meetings!!!
 

just because your beloved Badgers brought bad vibes to B10 basketball today, don't harsh our mellow on the Gophers win over one of the elite programs in the nation.

And I don't know if I've ever said it on the board before, but the idea that someone can be both a Gopher and Badger fan is unfathomable.

For the record, I'll take Gopher BB over Badger BB all day long. I just like Badger FB.

And I posted this before the Badger BB game.
