I remember before the Michigan State game there was a poster who predicted that Weber would have a great game and the Gophers would win. Is anyone getting any good vibes going into Saturday in Iowa City? This is my favorite rivalry game that the Gophers play because everyone I know is a Hawk fan. I would love nothing more than to celebrate all night in Hawkeye Nation on Saturday while Floyd travels back home to the U!

Go Gophers!

Troy Stoudermire brings a kick back for a touchdown in route to a Gopher victory and I celebrate the night in Iowa City!

Hope is a good thing and has kept me going for over 30 years of
Golden Gopher football.

I hope we win too!
I hope our offense plays like it did vs. MSU
and if it does - we have a chance to pull off the upset!

The poster of whom you speak was me.
My vibe is that the Gophers will play a hard-hitting and emotional game. Probably lots of penalties, but in the end a close game. I see Weber having a good but not great game.

Who knows, though, I kind of picked that MSU Weber prediction out of my ass.

:cool03: predicts a big Gopher victory. It will be so.

Seriously though, guys. Our win is going to be huge. And the naysayers will still be pissing and moaning about how we beat an incomplete Iowa. So, GH will still suck.

That is right. Even if we win the media and Brew haters will still moan and call for Brews head and say we don't have a quality win under Brewster. We beat Illinois last year and that did not count, we beat MSU and that did not count, I doubt Iowa would count in their mind because 2nd string QB or some lame excuse like that. Here is hoping for a win anyways.

I don't think that's the case. People are impressed Iowa hung around against the Buckeyes and pushed them to OT. And truthfully, I believe Vandenberg is a better QB than Stanzi--he has a stronger arm and is more accurate. When the Gophers beat Iowa this weekend it will be a major win, Brewster's signature win thus far. The Gophers would elevate 2-3 spots in bowl position and would finally have a trophy game win against a solid squad. That will be something to celebrate.

And for the earlier poster, I too had a vision this week of Stoudemire returning a KO for a TD. I mean, considering how high his return average is it is surprising he hasn't taken one to the house yet. I predict he takes the opening kickoff for 6.

Here's hoping our OL play tightens up and we give the QB time to make plays. Our D will come to play...

Iowa barely eeks out a victory at home against a Missouri Valley Conference opponent, fans question coach and quarterback
Following week...... Iowa plays a trophy game on the road, wins big.

Minnesota barely eeks out a victory at home against a MVC opponent, fans question coach and quarterback
Following week........???

I'm not saying, I'm just saying. ;) Here's hoping I'm on to something.

for some reason I get a feeling they might have a good game just because thats how our season has gone. up down up down...hopfully they're due for an up week.

I've recovered nicely from the excessive drinking that was done after the jackrabbit game.
I really feel that our squad will put up a terrific fight, and a great effort, no egg will be laid, no stupidity will squander chances. I feel like we will be very proud of this team after the game Sat.

I wouldn't call them "Good Vibes" but I have Rays of Hope:

-The Gophers should be very embarrassed by the way they played Iowa last year. Couple that with the game last week and all of the crap they've received about it, and this should be a very focused and motivated team tomorrow.
-The reverse of that is Iowa being complacent and lethargic because they have no respect for us.
-Along with that, Iowa has played a series of close and emotional games. I really believe at some point that catches up with you. Iowa losing a close game against Ohio State, is the best scenario for the Gophers.
-Iowa has had some close games against lesser opponents. Maybe that's how this game will play out and it's the Gophers that'll get the big defensive break or big return because Iowa's used up their big plays this year.

I never give up hope! This is it, a chance to redeem 55-0 which was the gophs biggest point loss to a BT member in U of M history.

You two people are really making a bold prediction. I mean I think Stoudemire is a great kick returner but when the only kickoff return he's going to see is that of the one to start the game that could make it tough for him :)

Being a realist, I hope they cover the spread. That would end the season on a high note.
