Good read from Fuller today

We may be small but don't let that fool you. Southern Miss thought the exact same thing, that size was going to be in their favor and that playing us was going to be a breeze, and look what happened to them. Size isn't everything. Plus, the average between the Minnesota offensive line and the MT offensive line is only like 10 pounds. I really don't think it will play a huge factor in the game.

SDSU was small but they were able to hold the edge last year.

Feisty, aren't we? All I said was that I didn't realize the line was so small. Our O-Line had a 400 lb tackle last year, and it didn't do much for us (he's worked and gotten himself in a little better shape this year).

We also had eventual All-Big Ten Centers that started as Freshmen at about 250 pounds (Hamilton and Eslinger). It's just not very common to see 260 pound tackles nowadays, agreed?

That being said, I hope to see our boys run right over them on their way to Kilgore.

Since when was stating facts being feisty??? Our O-line is small. It was last year too. I'm just saying that size hasn't really played a factor in any of our games. Southern Miss had big guys and look what we did to them. I'm just hoping that you're not betting the whole game on size. Plus...Kilgore runs a 4.56, 40. If size is a factor, I hope your "big" guys can run that fast without passing out.

I'm not trying to start anything or be rude, but come on...just because your O-line is, on average, 10 pounds heavier, doesn't mean it's an automatic win. Don't let size fool you...I'm just warning you.

Please point out where anybody in this thread said anything even remotely like that. You continue to come on this board and see disrespect that isn't there. And honestly, it's getting tiresome.

I guess 70 pounds per player is "like 10". That's 70. Our line is far more mobile this season.

From Adam Sparks: "Minnesota has the makeup of a power running team. All five starters on the offensive line return, and they average a daunting 6-foot-4, 321 pounds. On average, they outweigh MTSU’s starting defensive linemen (6-2, 249) by more than 70 pounds each."

It will be a huge factor.

MTSU starting OL: 260, 272, 297, 311, 302 - average weight: 288.4
Minn starting OL: 305, 350, 322, 302, 305 - average weight: 316.8

Maybe it's just my Minnesota math, but isn't 28.4 greater than 10?

(I realize these weights likely aren't accurate, but even an approximation grants a difference much larger than 10 lbs. It's still more than 20 lbs. difference even removing Jeff Wills and his 350 lbs.)

Are you sayin' we can't eat our way to victory?

Why the hell would comparing O-line weights matter? It's not like they play against each other. The comparison talked about was MTSU's O-line vs our D-line, where we are 10 pounds or so heavier on average and have a beastliness advantage of 1.0 Hagemans.

According to the article our defensive line is 10 pounds heavier than MTSU's offensive line. Our offensive line is bigger than our defensive line. I thought I read where our OL is like 6th or 8th largest in the country. Our starting OL averages just under 317 pounds.

She continues to defend her team when she doesn't have to.

Ok, now that we've moved on from that:

Didn't see any mention of Manuel, is he a lock to start? Or is Collado going to play safety with Watkins getting most reps at corner? Personally, I'd rather see Collado and Manuel. Although I've never seen Watkins. Is he any good?

I'm going to guess Hoese isn't making it. How Fullback heavy is our offense anyway? Could we assume that Lair and Eure will BOTH be on the field for most of the game? I don't want to see too much McGarry out there - he's just going to get beat and grab jerseys all night anyway.

They wouldn't seriously put Cooper at MLB would they?
