Terrible loss. I thought I saw an improved, more disciplined play than last week. Defense is certainly a work in progress. Manuel is going to be phenominal. Kirkwood really shows flash and punishes the defender. We need the rest of the freshmen to learn from these guys. Play smart and we will be better. The overall disparity in talent was very obvious on the field. Marquis needs to be thrown to more often. Well, I am not feeling better but I am not feeling like the Gophers are helpless. Just the same old result. :blah:

I feel like the team QUIT after the KO return. They don't seem to have any self pride. The idea wasn;t to stay close and compete, where the heck is the hate in the gut to lose. This is a result of the attitude, if you tried and lose its ok. At this level you have to win. Where is Kyle Henderson, he looked good in Spring and pre season, but is a no show during the season.????////////// I'm verrrrry frustrated.

One thing stood out to me. I watched Hageman on several plays today. He struck me as incredibly slow off the ball and really didn't seem to do much as a DT. Maybe he did some things I missed.

Didn't Manuel get burned for a 53 yard TD?

Yep that was him. I saw him pre-snap lined up against Ronald Johnson 1-on-1, and thought, "this can't end well." A double move later and unfortunately I was right.

Tons of potential though it seems.

There is a difference between being an apologist and

not.

I think the Goph's had there moments of weakness. They were outclassed and in the end, an undermanned team destroyed Minnesota. I wouldn't feign trying to forgive mistakes that cost the game. What I presume to do is state that there are things to learn from this game. Improve on them. And, move on. But, I did see some bright moments.

The face mask play was a mistake in judgement, but an excellent penetration that could have greatly helped the team. Grab some other part of the QB and it could have turned the tide.

I wonder why at the end of the half we did not toss a hail mary. What is the difference between a 25 yard punt and a 40 yard pass that is intercepted? The world may never know since Brewster is afraid to play anything more than the odds.

Yet, I think there are some things the players can learn and improve upon in short order. They did take steps at improving their game. A few more improvements, and we might see some November games turn our way.

Those bound to give up are the most certain to lose.

Bad scheme!

That one is on the DC. How do you put your freshman safety one-on-one against the opposition's best receiver? It didn't look like zone to me, but I could have been wrong. Wasn't it a blitz with the safety moving to man? I saw that a few times with Theret ending up in man as well...
