For any runners out there, the U is launching an inaugural 5K run this spring. The run will take place on campus and end at the stadium.
As a someone who lives in Madison I've seen how big Crazylegs has become here. I'm glad to see that the U is following suit. It's a great way to connect people to the U and raise money for the new Children's hospital.
Hopefully at some point the U does what UW does and direct the funds to athletics though. UW makes a good chunk of money for athletics. Crazylegs gets 20K plus participants per year now and they are paying anywhere from $23-$50 depending on which event they participate in and how early they register. As safe estimate would have them grossing over $700,000 last year.
