Not trying to discredit your son...but does he have some AD or bowl affiliation?

I hope he's right. I like the match up.
 

Rumor is vs. Baylor but in Meineke Car Care Bowl in Charlotte?
 



I disagree - it's not a bad matchup. They don't win a lot, and neither do we.

At this point, there are no bad matchups, as long as the Gophers are in a bowl game!
 

Baylor would crush us. By 50 or 60 points. That would be an awful matchup for us. We'd be better playing Iowa St, who we can hold under 10 points yet still lose to. Oh wait, that is just a bad memory.
 

CFN says Purdue has accepted invitation to Heart of Dallas Bowl. Projects they play Baylor and we play Texas Tech in Houston.
 

Meineke switched their sponsorship last year from the game in Charlotte (now the Belk Bowl) to the game in Houston (now officially known as the Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas).

Just curious? Have you've been to a bowl game? Better yet, do you have season tickets in any Gopher sport?

Yeah, I have season tickets to football. And I watch A LOT of college football, which includes Baylor dismantling some REALLY good teams. It's just my opinion, you're welcome to disagree.

I can tell you the top two scorers on the Women's hockey team, and where they went to high school. I can tell you who Minnesota plays in the sweet sixteen in volleyball next weekend, where it is at, and who we'd have to beat to go to the final four. I like all our sports, although I've never been to a soccer game, golf match or any track and field. Otherwise, I've seen the rest, in person.
 



All still depends if Northern Ill squeaks into BCS over Oklahoma...would push Big 12 teams down a rung and we could get TCU still.

Not sparlimb, but they kicked the living crap out of Big 12 Champion Kansas State, and beat Ok State by a touchdown. They lost to Texas, and WV but scored 50 and 63 points in those games. Their d is not good, but neither is our offense. I'm of the opinion that it would be a major mismatch and we could easily lose 63-27 or something like that. But I guess thats why they play the games if thats who we get.
 

Rittenberg just posted that is is official - we're going to Houston.
 

Booked my flight just now. Lived in Houston for 2 years a couple of years ago so it was easy to convince my wife to go down to Houston to the game and see friends
 


Can anyone fill me in on Houston (bars, hotels, attractions, etc)? Never been there before.

I have some friends with Baylor ties, so that would be cool to hang-out with them again, but Baylor would absolutely destroy us.

Iowa State or any team that struggles to run the ball and relies on the passing game. With the way our offense has struggled and no real prospects for it to be a ton better in the bowl game we need to face a team that is not explosive on offense.

If it's really going to be Baylor they ought to play the game up here. They owe us our "Home" of the "Home-and-Home"game series. :)
