Minnesota’s Michael Shibrowski, Ohio State’s Logan Davis and Wisconsin’s Joel Rumpel earn weekly honors
Goalies swept the Big Ten’s Three Stars accolades for the week ending Nov. 17, as Minnesota’s Michael Shibrowski, Ohio State’s Logan Davis and Wisconsin’s Joel Rumpel earned recognition. Each week throughout the 2013-14 season, the Big Ten will name a first star, second star and third star to honor top individual performers from across the conference.
First Star
Joel Rumpel, Wisconsin
G – Jr. – Swift Current, Saskatchewan
· Recorded 32 saves to lead Wisconsin to a 3-2 road victory over No. 8/8 Miami on Saturday, giving the Badgers a series split
· Turned aside a pair of breakaway opportunities in the third period, allowing the Badgers to complete their come-from behind win
· Boasts a record of 2-0-0 on the season with a 1.50 goals-against average and .945 save percentage
· Earned his first career weekly honor
· Last Wisconsin honoree: Tyler Barnes (First Star) and Joe Faust (Third Star) on Nov. 5, 2013
Second Star
Michael Shibrowski, Minnesota
G – Sr. – Andover, Minn.
· Stopped all 25 shots he faced on Saturday as Minnesota completed a series sweep over Minnesota State with a 3-0 win
· Notched his first career shutout in just his third career start
· Matched his career high for saves in a single game
· Recorded his first career weekly honor
· Last Minnesota honoree: Hudson Fasching (Third Star) on Nov. 12, 2013

Logan Davis, Ohio State
G – Fr. – Upper Arlington, Ohio
· Earned victories in his first two collegiate starts as the Buckeyes swept Canisius
· Tallied 20 saves during Friday’s 3-0 victory to earn his first career shutout
· Recorded 22 saves on Saturday as the Buckeyes completed the sweep with a 3-1 win
· Claimed his first career weekly honor
· Last Ohio State honoree: Tanner Fritz (First Star) and Max McCormick (Second Star) on Nov. 12, 2013
