I'm a fan of the bowls, but this one (and about 10 others) should be eliminated. These two teams were sub-par and had no right playing a game in January.
Dasher (who was much-feared by us last off-season) is brutal. He had one nice run for a TD, but when Miami forced him to throw from the pocket he looked terrible.
The game was filled with silly mistakes and sandlot turnovers by both teams.
Garbage bowl game.

I'm assuming no one's holding a gun to your head?

All 35 bowl games are exhibition games only, with no NCAA championship being awarded, so what is wrong with letting a company sponsor a game, and letting college athletes play in the game?

This game is no worse then 4 or 5 others, but what I hate is that it is played on January 6th. Generally we start out with the crappy bowls and slowly build to slightly better ones (Holiday, Alamo, etc.) and finally to New Year's Day and then the other BCS games. To then suddenly have these couple of clunkers randomly tossed in makes them such an afterthought. At least the Cotton Bowl is a decent game, but it also feels wierd playing it now. It should have stayed on New Year's Day.

I agree and the Championship game should have been last night or tonight.

I enjoyed watching the game. Congrats to Miami for a great season.

Miami's helmets with the "M" on one side and number on the other are kind of cool. I haven't watched (that) Miami in a while, so I don't know if it's their standard helmet or a throwback or what.

This is my problem with the bowl system, too. Hey, if they want every team to play in a bowl game, fine. But let's have a hierarchy. Playing on Jan. 1 or later should be special. (I would play all but the championship by Jan. 1 myself.) And the games before Jan. 1 should be lined up from worst to best. Pretty soon, everybody is going to be able to say they played a New Year's Day bowl. Let's make them earn a prime spot.

They actually showed the Miami Interim Head Coach's pre-game speech prior to the game. Apparently, the number was their helmet in the 60's, the "M" was the 70's, and the Stripe was apparently added to the "M" in the 80's. This was the first time all 3 were combined.

Playing in a New Year's bowl game doesn't have the same luster it used to have. It's really a shame. Don't understand the logic to having so many games played after New Year's Day. I'm sure it has something to do with money and ratings.

The games after New Year's are pretty much all because of the reshuffling of the BCS a few years ago. It meant that one BCS site would host their "normal" bowl on January 1, then get a week to prepare the site for the BCS Championship game. That extra week meant that ESPN wanted/needed to keep College Football programming going for those nights that would previously have been unoccupied, and more than a few bowls were willing to oblige them.
