getting fired up for the opener

I just spoke with one of my students from the spring, UNLV linebacker Tani Maka. He said that the UNLV coaches have posted film of the Gophers for players to watch. (I'm sure that all D1 coaches have made film available on their upcoming opponents). He also said that he was impressed with "#20" (Kirkwood) and he thought that the Gophers passed well in their spring game. Is that accurate? Anyway, Aug 29 cannot get here fast enough. Go Gophers!

I think it is perfect timing. It should just be starting to warm up and the rain will have just passed for that season opener. It can't get here soon enough.

Kind of sucks to be looking forward to the fall when our summer will be so short if it ever comes.

One of the guys in my group tossed out the idea of going to the noon Twins game on the same day. I think that could be a great way to transition from summer to autumn. Twins at noon, tailgating at 3ish and Gophers at 6:00. Could be fun if others did that. I would love to hear a "Let's Go Gophers!" cheer at the baseball game.
