Get this kid an offer ASAP.

A kicker that only weighs 205? Yeah, no thanks.

If he is accurate and has a leg like that, I really don't care if he weighs 405lbs, make him a offer.

It's amazing what video editing and a 20 mile an hour tail wind can do for you. In practice.

You can tell it is a side wind, not a tail wind. If he can hit from 70, even with a tail wind, he is not only accurate, but has one hell of a leg (remember he is still in high school, not a adult NFL kicker).

Actually, you can tell it's a hard tail wind by watching his shirt. He's purposely kicking left to get the loft and use the wind. He probably kicked 20 or more of them or more just to hit the one you see. Hell, I could kick balls through the end zone in high school with a light tail wind, and that 35 years ago as a toe-kicker. You can tell by his awkward style that he's just power kicking it. There's no real aim to his kicks, and he probably duffed as many as he hit reasonable well. Also, there's no snap, no hold, no line to get over, and no rush. They waited for this wind and angle to make this video.

This is a highly edited sales video.

I wish him luck, but I think this video was contrived and made to sell the school.

C'mon that was so staged...Dude Perfect had to be involved.

Look, good against remotes is one thing. Good against the living, that's something else.

IALTO!

If by light you mean 40mph, then I believe you.

A toe kicker is commenting? I suppose the next comment will be from a guy that wore leather helmets, that wants to explain how he never got a concussion.
I have never in my life seen a tail wind blow a ball 20 yards sideways. It is humorous that so many of you doubt him without doing any research past watching one video. It seems that a large percentage of the people on this site like to trash anyone that isn't a 5 star recruit. No wonder it is difficult for coaches to sell kids on the program when you have so called fans that look for every reason to trash a potential recruit. The funniest part is that most of the people posting, don't honestly know the first thing about football or what separates a D-I from a D-III player. I really wish some of you would remember that we are talking about kids 16-18 years, not adults. Please try to keep that in mind before accusing someone's highlight video of being altered or staged.

If you pay any attention, you'll see balls curve 10+ yards all the time. Add a little bit of wind and it can curve a bunch.

Couldn't you say the same thing about those who just watch the video and think he's a great kicker? I think that's the point you're missing. The kid very well could be great, but this video doesn't prove a whole lot.

Not sure what this is in reference to. Do you have any other examples?

You're right, a few messages from random people on a message board about a player that has never been linked to the Gophers is killing our program.

The funniest part is that most of the people posting, don't honestly know the first thing about football or what separates a D-I from a D-III player.

Most seem to understand that one video doesn't prove any of that. Again, that's the part you're not understanding. Anyone can make a video look good.

No one called him a terrible player or anything. I think you're being a little too sensitive.

I am not being "too sensitive, read the posts across this entire website and you will see what I am talking about. I think the part you don't understand is that this is a "highlight video", that is meant to show off his skills, just as every highlight video is meant to do. Everyone looks amazing in a highlight video, even a toe kicker. I am not trying to defend him or anyone else, I just get tired of seeing all of the negative posts about kids that could or might consider playing for this or any program.
I understand perfectly what you are getting at and that wind played a factor, but for anyone to discount someones ability or accuse them of editing a video without proof is irresponsible. Go look at his other videos, do some research, watch some game film or something before throwing this or any other kid in the garbage. I guess what I am really saying is "all the negativity in this town sucks".

My exact thoughts. As they say, "The proof will be in the pudding." Let's just say that the kid has a strong leg and a nice highlight video and that he deserves consideration. He's going to be scrutinized plenty down the road, so let's just lay back and enjoy getting the information.

Exactly!
