someone asked on another thread about a recent comment made on jim souhan's radio show...
something to the effect that joel maturi may regret having hired brewster...
the only reason souhan mentioned this...is because he knows what is being discussed behind closed doors in the athletic department...maturi is not happy...and neither is bruiniks, for that matter...
here is a suggested path forward for brewster, if he wants to keep his job going into 2010...
1. win
2. knock off the twittering/tweeting nonsense, especially as it relates to being personal and derogatory toward an overweight, local sports writer
3. stop suggesting in public ways that football 'is the most important sport' at the 'u'...this type of activity does not endear you to your peers, or to your superiors...
4. quit recruiting so many football players with academic and/or character question marks
5. stop running off players who don't look like they will be all-conference...commitment is a two-way street...
6. don't make the 'u' write another check to an assistant coach that you don't want around any more...the dunbar decision was a very poor reflection of you...not of dunbar...
7. be a team player
8. view your student-athletes as more than just cattle
8. grow up
now, these are not my suggestions...these come from those who have a say over brewster's continued employment at the 'u'....but i cannot find fault with anything on this (partial) list...
btw, brewster is not the only big 11 football coach who might feel his chair begin to heat up in the months ahead...bret bielema had better take advantage of his light schedule in 2009, if you know what i mean...
p.s. i personally do not care how you like your chili

here come the masonites! well, the thirty or so that are still left out there. they are a small but vocal bunch aren't they?!?!
dinkything.....gophergod....nervous gopher......etc.....etc.....you guys are so tiring and predictable.......YAWN
my advice if you even care to hear it: please don't respond to this nonsense. dinkything and gophergod are just trying to bait some people here because they need attention today.

Rock, that must be a picture of MSP airport 20 minutes after my plane has landed, since there's no f_cking bags on the carousel.
Most of all, rise above the Minnesota disease known as pessimism and refuse to give up on this team or this program. Show the country this is a great team at a great university in a great state. It is the best we have, and our support will make it better. Do we really want another coach to leave?
To get back on topic:
Brewster's best quote: "There is no substitute for emotion..."
Oh so true.
Brewster's job is safer than yours is. Safer than Souhan's too. Get a clue.
I'm sorry, but who quotes Jim F'ing Souhan on matters related to college football? (especially Gopher football)
He knows almost nothing about college football. I am embarassed for him and Brad Lane when they try to talk about it. They know even less about Gopher football.

...Who has he run off? and list one example of an instance where he is not a team player and needs to grow up (based on fact and not rumor or he said she said)
he is in the process of running another off the team ...a local 3 star kid ...let's see if the young student-athlete makes it to fall camp...again, this is all coming from within the 'department'...
Are you talking about Nance? He's not being run off, if he is in fact leaving (which is just rumor at the moment) he's doing it on his own because he knows his playing time will be limited and because he'd rather play basketball. I'm guessing Brewster would love to keep him around.he is in the process of running another off the team ...a local 3 star kid ...let's see if the young student-athlete makes it to fall camp...again, this is all coming from within the 'department'...
