Two Questions??

1) Has Tim Brewster EVER received a Gatorade bucket from his players since being head coach of the U???? and

2) When we beat Wisconsin on Saturday, does he deserve one?

Tim.....show us and our kids how REAL men deal w/adversity...how we get back up and continue our path despite what everyone is saying, dust ourselves off and keep working....keep focused...stay the course!

Show us all how men of character refuse to yell back...how we speak with our actions and deeds...how hard work WILL eventually pay off....how you have tons of young men looking up to your leadership everyday and how you set the table for them!

Show us all how easy it is to smile when you're winning but just as easy when you're losing because there IS a larger picture here other than W-L! Let us all see the character that you represent this University with pride and that despite our "current" record, you and your staff have given our young GOPHERS your very best.....and thats what real men do!

This Saturday, its time for the cream to rise to the top baby!!!

C'mon Tim.....I'm STILL pulling for you man! GET YOUR BATH! GET YOUR AXE! GET YOURS and GET OURS!

GO GOPHERS!!!!

Our chances our slim. But, I would REALLY love for our fans, our team, and for Brew to get the Axe and bring it back. While they are at it go grab the slab of bacon and bring it home too!

OR...After we win the axe, refuse to bring it to next year's game unless the bacon is donated to the NCAA Football HOF...or displayed at the midpoint between the 2 campuses...or saw it in half and whichever school would rather see the other school have it than its destruction gets it.

Show us you can tackle the damn ball carrier.

Otherwise it is going to be a long day.

The only bath youre going to see is the one on Nov 27th when Ferentz gets another bigten championship and headed to the rose bowl baby! Just think what happens that day.....
Brewsters last game, another Iowa thrashing, another big ten championship, and Tim Brewster delivers it, yep a rose bowl only he'll be delivering it on a silver platter to the hawkeyes as they break in the new kinnick north. The final chapter for Brewster, I hope he lasts long enough to see Nov 27th.

I would agree on young Gophers for Defense, and why we are springing leaks

A lot of young guy's on the defense that are getting game experience for the first time, everyone knows they are young. That part you can throw up as an excuse, this team is getting pounded on D especially the front and are 1-4 due to isolation plays and exploiting confussion and poor allignment, and spacing. The average or mean scoring drive is 2:55 in minutes and seconds for all five opponents this season. You will win time of possesion every time when the opponent can score in less than 2:00 minutes time or scores early and often under 2:00 minutes almost at will. I like what the D coordinator is doing in disguising coverage with the secondary and rolling guy's that is effective, that is damn good teaching and working together and was a good adjustment to what the offense and opponents have been doing to the Gophers.

How do you adjust to the D-line taking bad rush lanes,Just way to wide open on the edges, they are pushing themselves out of plays, consistently running themselves out, not being square to the ball carrier, there is no group play there or working together on the line. In there haste to get to the QB the DE are consistently giving up the edge of the line so that the QB can run free all of the time. The DT are no better they are consistently getting stood up, blocked down on and slid out of position. It is all of the line stunts and the baloney going on there that is effecting everything else, why stunt if it is having little to no effect and is not freeing up anyone. 94 Manuel if given a chance they would not move him that kid understands holding his spot so others can make plays and if need be shed the block and get the tackle. Edwards looks gimpy and is not his usual explosive self. Same with Kirksey you can tell that bad wheel is bugging him. The stunts are singular in approach, there is no disguise, ryhme or reason to them, if your going to stunt you have to have a plan and expect each other to be where your supposed to be. Stunting doesn't confuse anyone when your sliding, bumping into each other, or getting your self out of wack with the opposite direction of motion anyways. Earlier this season it was the LB's playing to tight to the line and getting swallowed up in traffic. If the linebackers are to clean up, the Front Four have to beat somebody 1 on 1. It's like there scared of everything falling apart up there that there throwing crap against the wall and hoping it sticks, plugging a finger in hole and just praying not to spring a leak. Our guy's are on there heels and playing flatfooted because of this stupid line stunts non-sense, not feeling confident in the defense called and not simply getting set, man your gap, give the linebackers enough time to fill and then finish. They miss Royston it is time for somebody like Tinsley to step up and start barking, or Theret if need be. They know the calls and need to get everyone rallying together.

On the other side of the ball, we have one young offensive lineman, LT Olson, the rest are upperclassman and have played a lot of snaps. The QB is a senior, and the tailbacks are Juniors with the FB being a senior. The WR are even Juniors or Seniors with the exception of Bryant Allen a Sophmore. TE's are even senior or Junior level players, heck the kicker is even a senior.
You are right the coach has never had a gatorade bath, everyone would be happy if he could get one this weekend but there is a lot of doubt. The QB does the best that he can but is inconsistent and has not lead them back during adverse situations. Young is not an excuse on offense, these are neither young guy's or inexperienced on offense. I'm sure the coaches are working there butt's off trying to tune out all of the noise and negativity none of this is easy when your season has not gone the way as planned. Only the men in that room can do something about it, the rest of us are just observers, fans and hope they can find a way to win on Saturday's. Winning is sure a heck of a lot more fun than losing, it is a good deoderant as John Madden likes to say and it was very evident when they were winning the game at most points last Saturday.

Last Saturday in TCF was the first time everyone was having a lot of fun until the very end of the game. The O had been putting up points, but have been leaving a few plays on the field. That leads to frustration and losses for all. If you flush the brain get rid of past games and let go of the negative, maybe things can change. Here is hoping they can get a trophy, everyone would be happy about that, it is not just a trinket like Mase would say, it would be a sign that the hard work and effort is paying off.

geez, I need a nap after that. This gent has the world by the tail or at least the little rodents. maybe he should be the next coach

Not a chance, in HH hockey sticks

Yeah I am wordy but it is a decent analysis of what is going wrong. The coaches on this squad are not as bad as they are made out to be by the media or we as fans at times and neither is the QB. We fans are just frusturated with the losing and the stink of that, losing sets in from time to time and everyone is ornery. Good luck on that Big 10 championship, the Hawks will have lost at least two games prior to our meeting on NOV 27th in TCF. They may celebrate another win but your kidding yourself if you think they will win the Big 10 conference on our turf. That will be settled well in advance of this game. You can believe that Yellow and black delusion all you want but there are a few problems in Hawkville with that defensive secondary vulnerable and the RB too. That and Northwestern and Ohio State have your Hawks number and don't crap to bed when they play your squad.

Yes!!! (Not you MspHawk, you're a d*uche and need to stop being jealous that the only school who considers you their top rival is ISU).

But if Brewster, or anyone closely associated with the team at all, reads these boards --- I want you to know this: "We all want you to prove us wrong this weekend. But don't win it for the fans, don't win it for the local or national media, don't do it to save your jobs or reputations, don't even do it for the U that we all love. Don't even do it, because wisconsin deserves to be embarrassed. Do it for yourselves. Do it because you guys have put a lot of work into this team, and you do deserve your moment of triumph!! I believe that you can win!!"

You’re right they are not as bad of coaches as they are made out to be...They’re worse! Its NOT just the losing it’s to teams like USD. Just like all the flaming done on the IA board last week, how Penn State was going to clean house. You’re the only one who thinks your analysis is decent by the way. You’ll soon see a new RB named Marcus Coker, you probably heard of him when Brewster thought he was coming to MN. Guess Thomas Hammock and John Butle couldn’t close that deal. The Hawks will also give you another look at Broderick Binns and Karl Klug along with their National leading defense. See ya Nov 27th! Digest that and then type me another 3 page Dissertation on how the gopher coaches aren’t really that bad.

Does that mean you'll be leaving Gopherhole for 2 months?

By the way, it's losing, not loosing genius.

We'll be sure to give the Punkster one last bath... blood bath that is.
Ima gonna miss that little feller :'(

Good luck with that Big 10 title dream

Who flamed from here about Penn State against Iowa anyways? Your the one here flaming about the Hawks rolling into TCF and our coaches sucking. Freshman QB, on the road and playing with dinged up linebackers, yeah Penn State was going to roll. Keep telling yourself the Hawks will win the Big 10 and maybe it will actually come true. Like I didn't know you were ripping me, please. Your overconfidence in your team will be evident by the end of the season. Michigan State, Ohio State, and Michigan will have a lot to say about who actually wins the Big 10 championship and Northwestern does not play a couple in that group. That and Fitzgerald and his staff at Northwestern can beat your Hawks but you of course already know that. 3 more losses minimum for the Hawks. Your Hawks have it for the O-lines and d-lines that separates right now (They play with a lot better leverage, good footwork and better conditioning and that's what makes them good to quite good. Your talking about Binns, who will be in the NFL and Klug will at least get a tryout if not make it. You by the way are as equal a *&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!# as I am, just yell louder and toss around insults. The Gophers will have a lot of incentive to do more than just show up that day, that is for another day.

That is what let's you talk the talk and have Diarrhea of the mouth on a Gopher board. Like I care anything about this Coker kid you speak of, never even heard of the guy. They must be in really bad shape if they have to insert some Freshman RB. Hawk your just a dimwit like me on a message board who think's your crap smells like roses, good comparison. We will see who has the last laugh at the end and who was more right about the Big 10.

Easy. Most people from Sconnie are going to start dreaming about roadkill if you keep using the term bloodbath.

ya, like the two freshmen last year! Next Man in! MN made an offer to Coker, way to follow your recruiting. He like Binns and Klug made a good choice look at them now. At least be happy for those kids, do you honestly think Klug and Binns would sniff the NFL if they were here at MN? Get real and get off your high horse. There were Tons of gophers on the iowa board flaming last week, so this is a two way street.

Top Bottom
