per Parrish:

Marshall Henderson was never college basketball's best player or scorer or anything last season. But he developed into the sport's most fascinating figure and was widely considered must-see television for lots of right and some wrong reasons as Ole Miss reached the Round of 32 of the NCAA tournament.

He was either the best or worst thing about college basketball.

Reasonable minds differed on that.

But Henderson was undeniably interesting and among the sport's highest-profile players. His rise in status, sparked by his jersey-popping episode in a win at Auburn, created national headlines. And so you knew Henderson would also garner big bold letters if he ever experienced the downfall many predicted, and proof of that came Wednesday when Ole Miss announced it is suspending the 6-foot-2 guard for a "violation of team rules" that a source told CBSSports.com is related to failed drug tests.

Henderson's future at Ole Miss is suddenly uncertain.

Consider me shocked this dooshbag is in trouble again.

Sad to see him go, I kind of became a fan of this guy when he was knocking the Badgers out of the tourney in round 1.

I love this guy, I'd pay attention to the pups again if they wound up with him

What will be interesting is if Ole Miss kicks him off the team (which they should), who would go after him, and could he get a waiver to play next year?

Once a punk, always a punk.

My money says he'll hold a press conference, look sad, be contrite, say he's going to change his ways, say all the right things. Then Ole Miss will give him "one more chance", and he'll end being the same punk he's always been, all the while Ole Miss will continue to bury its head in the sand.

Failed the drug test 3 times - put the pot away for a year Marshall.

Unfortunately, I agree. This kid is all about promoting himself imo. In other words, the kid is cocky and arrogant to the max. In my experience, people like this tend to think rules don't apply to them. Frankly, I would be more surprised if he straightens himself out than if he doesn't.

I love to watch and rewatch this GIF looking at a different person in the crowd each time. Awesome array of emotions.

I did that, too! It's sort of like a silent movie, where you don't have to hear anything to get the complete story.

The Grizzly Adams guy on the far left seems to be enjoying it.

The black guy in the white has a creepy smile thing going on. Kinda reminds me of this:

HAHAHA! +08.

After this, an Auburn fan should put on this t-shirt and stick it in his face.

Hmm... hope he gets the help he needs to turn his life around. My guess is that this won't stick (in terms of him missing actual game), but that's kinda besides the point.

I wouldn't feel sorry for him if he lost an arm or a leg. This kid is what's wrong with sports. His team wasn't even that good.

Don't forget the coke. Reports are that he was found with that at well.

Sounds like a classic case of sudden fame and a person not being able to deal with it. I doubt he was this much of a train wreck before their little run last year.

Pretty sure he was a train wreck long before Ole Miss. Ole Miss is his 4th school (also Utah, Texas Tech, South Plains College), and reportedly there have been social issues at about every stop.

Andy Kennedy's job was in jeopardy when he took this kid on, and it probably still is. An argument could be made that Henderson saved Kennedy's skin. ... at least for one season. I would imagine Kennedy will be out of work @ Ole Miss after this coming season if Henderson gets any more out of hand.

Thanks for the insight. I like him as a player; hopefully this episode helps him somehow. He sure is a yahoo.

I have no idea where Henderson is from, but her certainly he has "hick" written all over him.

Hubris and poor judgment have ruined many people. This isn't surprising news.

Random tangent...for some reason Marshall reminds me of our very own Shane Schilling. So, just wanted to let you all know I wasted 10 minutes of my life googling "Shane Schilling".

Ole Miss is just happy to have made the tourney last year as Henderson helped Kennedy get over the tourney hump and they actually gave Kennedy a contract extension, even after the Henderson double bird, IIRC. Kennedy had gone a long time without making the tourney and like it or not they view last season as progress, even with the oddities of Henderson.

No, not surprising, but kinda sad, even if he is a bit... excessive. Addiction is sad. I hope he gets help and turns things around.
