2 pm and no game thread from Stan. Sign of the apocalypse. And no I didn’t just jinx our 0-6 Gophers for tonight’s game.

Nope, Ben will play 7, with Edmonds and Frank the Tank with no minutes, even though Michigan has two seven footers. Betters will clean up tonight.
 


well, to be perfectly honest, the game threads have become interchangeable. the same people posting the same complaints with some minor variations.

how many different ways can you say "the Gophers suck" or "Ben Johnson sucks."

maybe some people get some entertainment or enjoyment from ripping the team and/or the coach. for me, it's just sad. It's truly sad to see what the program has descended to.

but- it's not going to change until after the season. barring some cataclysmic event, it's going to be the same players and same coach, and likely the same outcome.

Hey - if you enjoy the game thread, fine. I'm not criticizing anyone for posting on the game thread. I just don't feel the need to participate.

there are plenty of things in this life that make me feel sad. I don't need to add more to the list.

They did. Heroically. And made me $100.

From the "Maryland Line" thread:

"I am stupid, but I have $115 on the.Gophers +16.5.

I'm betting Johnson has his team operating at peak performance, MD takes the Gophers lightly, and MN loses by less than 15."

Not tonight though.

Your post is confusing in that I can't tell if you are disappointed what the program has turned into or just that posters comment on it?

Well, you could start a new thread complaining about Ben, or you could dredge up an ancient post to complain about Ben.

I honestly have no idea why so many people feel the need to kick the dead horse.

I suppose that is true, but this an internet message board. For example, PJ and Brosmer did a really good job this year and that was voiced over and over. And rightfully it should be. It is a Gopher site. What else should people be talking about except whether our teams are doing good or bad?

a little of both. disappointed in where the program is at

and disappointed that so many people seem to enjoy kicking the program when it's down. at times it seems as if there is a competition to see who can say the meanest things about the program, the players and the coach.

I don't expect people to ignore the truth that is starting them in the face. but - in my opinion - a lot of the criticism of Ben Johnson has turned personal. He may not be a good coach - but that does not make him a bad person. I feel bad for him. this has to be a nightmare for any coach.

yes, I am long-winded. when I am trying to make a point, I try to offer some context or background.

and I try to stay away from throwing out "hot takes." there are plenty of other people on this board doing that.

I apparently missed the Gopher Hole rules that say there is only one way to post content on here.

If you don't like it, put me on ignore and you never have to read anything I post.
