opening night, no less, and the U's Sports Information office still doesn't have tonight's game notes on Gophersports.com. Why am I not surprised?

Good thing Wofford has their's posted on their web site.

Wofford's projected starting lineup (4 seniors & 1 junior) has no one taller than 6-6. ... 6-0 (Loesing), 6-1 (Rundles), 6-2 (Diggs), 6-6 (Johnson) & 6-6 (Dahlman). Sounds like a simple game plan to me. Pound it inside to our bigs.

That should be the game plan for us. I also think it should be a simple game plan for them play zone make us hit outside shots that are not coming from Blake.

Listing Dahlman at 6'6" is rather generous too. I'm already preparing myself for how pissed it's going to make me when Ralph does some fall away post move against these guys. Ralph and Colton should have at least 15 each tonight. Trevor should also have a big game. Defensively, we need to make sure we don't give up uncontested looks from three, even though I can already see that happening as well.

Hopefully, we can dominate them on the boards and get a bunch of easy put backs. The big guys need to forgot about using any of their post moves and just get the ball turn around and shoot. I would bench any big man that dribbles the ball or puts the ball below their chest in this game. Don't let them get any easy steals by using your Mchale like post moves Colt, Ralph!

Don't forget about Mo Walker, he impressed me in the Winona game on Monday. Used his big body very well, given a good amount of playing time, i expect about 10 points from Mo tonight.

IMO, Trevor and Mo are the best "at-the-basket" scorers of our big men. Colon isn't usually a scoring threat and Ralph doesn't really bang inside.

Really? I couldn't disagree more. I haven't seen much from Trevor to suggest that he'll ever be a dominant low post scorer. As I've noted before, he tends to be off-balance, and doesn't really elevate well in traffic. Plus he has no post moves. He's great at drawing fouls, so it's still important to feed him the ball, but both Colt and Ralph have shown the ability to score around the hoop, Colt with power moves to the hole, and Ralph with his more finesse jump hook game. And I like what we've seen out of Mo, but let's not get carried away. Both he and Trevor showed some pretty terrible hands last game, and although Mo hit some nice shots in the low post and impressed me, let's wait until he goes against somebody legit. Frankly, I think our low post scorers ranking has got to be Colt-Ralph-Trevor-Mo, and that's no knock on the latter two.

How many games have you seen Trevor play? I agree he has very few post moves but completely disagree about him not being able to elevate in traffic. He is a great rebounder and can finish in traffic.

I've watched a lot of games with him. He can elevate like no other, and he's a great rebounder. However, I've watched quite a few games he's been involved in this year. When he's in the lane, he doesn't elevate straight up, but tends to fade one direction or another, quite often getting fouled in the process. I wish he'd take the ball once a while and go straight up and shoot over people. Further, I haven't seen him finish in traffic very much at all, except on the break.

I'm not sure why people constantly rip Colton's work in the post. He's actually got great footwork, he could just use a little more poise and then finesse on his finishes. He's going to eat this team alive tonight.

Side note, I saw a couple Wofford players in the skyway this afternoon walking around. They looked pretty big to me...but 6'6'' in public is different than 6'6'' on a basketball court. I mean, Steve Nash is 6'4'' and he looks tiny out there.

Trevor may not have an array of post moves but the ones he does use seem to be pretty effective. Mo is already a better "at the basket" scorer? Let's check back in on that one later in the season.

Still think this about Trevor?

From what I've seen, Trevor rarely fades away. Such a beast. I wish we could not throw his alleyoops 20 ft in the air.
