Indiana (4-5) in big ten at Mn (4-6). A young Indiana team comming of a home win over Michigan. Like Purdue, a very good rebounding team (8th in the nation). Indiana isn't a good 3pt shooting team, Yogi is good, Sheehy is stuggling, vonleh is good from there but doesn't take many.

All conference canidate Yogi 6' and lil Dre 5'9" in a matchup where you cannot blink they are so fast. adv Yogi
FR S. Robinson 6'4" 195, Gordon 6' 190 vs A. Hollins, M. Smith both 6'2" 195 ish. A healthy Andre and this is no contest. Currently small adv us.
Sr Sheehy 6'7" 200 vs Austin 6'4" 185. Even
FR T. Williams 6'7" 210, Holloway 6'8" 220 vs Oto 6'8" and King 6'8" 220ish. need our stretch 4's to hit from 3 then i give us the edge.
Fr Vonleh 6'10" 240 vs EE 7' 250, Walker 6'10" 255, suprisingly i say even.

**Like Purdue and in most matchups we are smaller at all 3 perimeter positions, important to note in that our guards didn't rebound well and a hot taller shooter can still get shots off.

Lil Dre will have a much tougher time getting into the lane if Yogi is on him. Time to try the 3 more often.

A talented McDonalds all-american and future lottery pick in post Vonleh is a handful and the reason you would probably start EE the better defender on him.

I like starting the better defenders in Oto and EE, and bringing the better scorers off the bench. You flip flop them and you have very little bench scoring.

We should have the advantage at home even without a healthy Dre. Yogi, Vonleh, and Sheehy are consistent and will get theirs, they have trouble finding a consistent 4th. We should be able to pressure the freshmen Indiana is giving it up 15 times a game.

Go gophers!

Agreed on the Lil Dre point. He's hitting 48% of his threes. Not sure why he doesn't jack more up.

Some Indiana news....

Crean lauds younger Pitino, Hollins
"That, Crean said, is what could make Pitino a dangerous coach in the conference. He said the younger Pitino has some similarities and some differences with his father, but what he can gather from watching film on him is that they are both difficult to scout. The calling card for both is pressurized defense and an emphasis on creating turnovers. The Golden Gophers average more steals (8.3 per game) than anyone else in the Big Ten. Beyond that, though, they can win games in a number of different ways."

What to Expect: Minnesota (insidethehall)
WHAT IT COMES DOWN TO
Both KenPom and Sagarin are bullish on Minnesota’s changes with both models predicting the Gophers by five. Neither, of course, takes recent play much into consideration like the Vegas line, which will be out later today, likely will.

Still, playing at home is a major factor for Minnesota and the raised floor and hostile environment present a significant challenge for a young Indiana team that has struggled away from Assembly Hall.

Big Road Game in Minnesota Could Be Turnaround for Hoosiers
"On the whole, Indiana has to feel pretty confident about being able to go into Minnesota's building and walk away with a win. The Gophers are on a skid where their top 25 offense has struggled to break a point per possession. If the Hoosiers can continue making them inefficient with their own lock down defense, the Minnesota defense has shown a lot of cracks against athletic teams. This is the 3rd toughest remaining game on the schedule for Indiana but it is far from out of the question on whether they can win. It's going to take a complete performance, but this is the game that can get them over the hump in terms of tournament resumes."

Hopefully the team gets up for Rick's appearance. We need this one.

Go Gophers!!

Congrats Joey! Hopefully Oto will play hard when he comes in.

If we want to solidify our tournament hopes this is a huge game. I could see use getting anywhere from 2-5 wins to close out the season but we need atleast 3 to get in I would say (barring a few B1G tourney wins). With NW, Illinois, and PSU on the card id like to think we could get atleast 3, but im not sure with the way we have been playing lately.

Most say we need to get 5 wins to be tourney bound. 4 means we have work to do in the conference tournament. 3 wins won't cut it.

Virtually impossible to get in with only 3 more conference wins...unless they were to make a run to the championship game of the B1G tournament. And even that may be a stretch.

Exceedingly winnable game but the Yogi v Lil Dre match up could be decisive? Can Lil D play under control while remaining aggressive? I speculate that some of his over zealousness is the lack of scoring support from others, are you listening Hollins brothers? I hope to see the Gophers increase the hands and hustle plays tonight! It was sorely lacking at Purdue and contributed to boards domination.

Anyone ready for a full game, not half, of consistent feeding to Mo?

If they lose, backs are squarely against the wall. Rebounds and loose balls need to be a priority.

Feel like this is going to be another frustrating game.

Hope it's a large and vocal crowd. No excuse for it not to be. Vonleh needs to be frustrated and stopped. Big win coming.....

Another home loss and the local media will smell blood in the water and start piling on.

EE should be the next one to lose his starting spot. He has really, really regressed on O.

brain fart by king.....have to have your mind in the game.

Dear Joey King,
Why must have 2 bonehead play every game?
Sincerely, head scratcher.
