SCOUT has a list of their top 100 recruits for 2010.

Minnesota is listed as a team of interest with only one recruit, Seantrel Henderson, who is a 5-Star recruit. Interestingly, according to SCOUT, only UCLA has tendered Henderson an offer while Boston College, Florida, Iowa, Minnesota, Notre Dame and Ohio State have yet to offer. As GopherLady said in a response to one of my queries, it's a matter of updating and apparently SCOUT hasn't updated the list for sometime. I believe all of the listed teams have offered the Cretin-Derham all-star.

Although Minnesota was not listed as a team of interest, two Iowa and two Texas 4-Star athletes should be of interest to the Gophers:

Iowa Players

RB Andre Dawson, 6-1, 210 pounds, Cedar Rapids, (Washington HS) Iowa. Offers: Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin.

Safety A.J. Derby, 6-4,215, Iowa City, has offers from Cincinnati, Iowa, Stanford, Wisconsin.

Minnesota has not had much success in recruiting Iowa players, and I don't believe they've put much effort in the Hawkeye State. Kirk Ferentz pretty much gets the homegrown players he wants. Nevertheless, Illinois and Wisconsin has come in and picked off a player or two on occasion. So, maybe Minnesota should try as well. After all, Iowa has gotten its fair share from Minnesota, and getting a quality player or two from Iowa would be quite satisfying. It's hard to beat the work ethic of the native Iowa athletes.

Texas

WR Mike Davis, 6-1, 175, Dallas, (Skyline HS) TX. Listed offers: Iowa, Iowa State, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State.

DE Corey Nelson, 6-1, 200, Dallas, (Skyline HS) TX. Listed offers: Florida, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech.

The two Dallas Syline players have a strong list of schools interested in their services. Maybe Minnesota will get into the mix as well. The Gopher coaching staff did quite well in 2008 when they recruited four players from the Dallas high school.

I thought you'd be interested in some of the early names in 2009 recruiting campaign.

Go Gophers!!
